2x4 area? You're right. I stand corrected. Thx!
Still a good LED for a smaller space.

Yeah hps are now old school but u still have die hard fans of them leds are so more efficint in my eyes since i switch i gt bigger yelds and plants are healther as wellIf it really kicks ass I might get two more for a tent that I need to replace my old 600w hsp. either way this hsp needs to go after this grow.
I totally agree. My plants look pretty nice too, even under cheap blurples. Just short but bushy and I don't quite understand why leds do that. So I was wondering if anybody ever tried supplementing led with a tiny 70 watt MH or Hps? And if so, did it at enough to prevent that shortness?Yeah hps are now old school but u still have die hard fans of them leds are so more efficint in my eyes since i switch i gt bigger yelds and plants are healther as well

If you want longer internodes either raise the light higher, increase red spectrum, or decrease blue spectrum.I totally agree. My plants look pretty nice too, even under cheap blurples. It has nothing to do with motivation. It's specified Blu:red spectrum for short internodes that causes this.I found the same when I started and realized the plants didn't really have any motivation to grow taller since they were getting beyond plenty of light. I had my lights 10" away. When I moved the lights to 18" to 24" they shot up. Mid-way through my first grow I realized that vipar actually recommended 36" away while in veg!
Now that I have more control I keep my COBs at about 18" dialed down to 70% power.
Can't increase red or blue and the panel hangs 3 feet above the plants. Manufacturer says 24" in veg..If you want longer internodes either raise the light higher, increase red spectrum, or decrease blue spectrum.

What led do you have 36" over your plants that is causing them to be too short/bushy? That seems pretty far away too be causing that. Could be genetics. Can't increase red or blue and the panel hangs 3 feet above the plants. Manufacturer says 24" in veg..
I'm almost pondering to put a sheet of plexiglas between it to make it weaker.

418 watts over what size grow area? 3' should be a sufficient amount of room though. This one :

Mine has no veg/bloom buttons tho.
I doubt it's genetics... Purpke kush, white widow and specially the sour diesel should've a tad taller.
I got 3 plants under it in a 4x4 tent. Obviously the plants don't take up 4x4 lol418 watts over what size grow area? 3' should be a sufficient amount of room though.

No three feet seems about right. You could still raise them higher if you want more stretch. That light might cover most a a 4x4 flowering. It looks like it was designed for a 2x4 as it's a rectangle.I got 3 plants under it in a 4x4 tent. Obviously the plants don't take up 4x4 lol
Yea, you'd think 3' would make them stretch a bit, but nuh uh ..
I got it 12" under the tent roof now. We will see what happens next.No three feet seems about right. You could still raise them higher if you want more stretch. That light might cover most a a 4x4 flowering. It looks like it was designed for a 2x4 as it's a rectangle.
