i currently have a 400w hps running up top and was thinking of sticking a little outdoor mh floodlight or something (as long as its mh) for side growth. i found a 100W mh on homedepot.com for $80 buck anyone know of somewhere cheaper?

no ideas any1? if there is any other kind of lighting set-up that will provide the same color spectrum and fatten those buds up on the bottom im open to ideas...i have thought about cfl's but do you really get your moneys worth if i just put maybe two on each side plus the 400 hps?

You wouldn't do a whole lotta good putting a couple cfl's in addition to a 400w HPS. Cfl's are much better suited for veg/clones and do not have the needed intensity during flowering. I would go with another HID. If your looking for cheap, HTG Supply has a 400W MH ballast that you wire yourself (with instructions) for $60.

ok i think i found what your talking about... what about housing for the parts? cooling fans for it and what not
