Wow that's crazy. I was tabbed out looking for fans for the new cabs I'm building... Thought that the s&p was overkill for the other cab so why spend all that on venting the new ones? So I picked up a 5 pack of 120mm fans for ~$20. Perfect that you looked that up for me :D I can use two stacks of two and have great results! Now just to figure out a nifty light trap for to set them up for exhaust...

Sweet. I will go buy the carbon filter and stick a fan or two on it to see how much pressure it makes.

Yeah man I'm building two new cabs and they both will be rocking those louvers.
The new cabs will be running 1 vero 29 3500k @ 2.1a over 24" x 20" each.

For the cab with the louvers already I'm running 10x vero 10's @350 ma. Killawatt reads 110w

Some pics in there :D
Building stuff is fun!
Why did you device to go from 350ma to 2.1a for your new cabs? Also only one cob! Are the for vegging? Clones? Seedlings? Flowering? How tall are the cabs?

I think my cab will end up with two "50w" Chinese cobs @ 1.5A. If I can use more light I will figure something out.

If the heat from my pc case is too much for the main cab I might enclose the lights and vent them separately.

I want to go to the store today and buy some wood to build a box inside the pc case. If rather not use wood but I don't think I can find plastic or metal for cheap.

I would actually prefer sheet metal, that way I can use the screws I already have from the pc case and mount the inner walls to the existing screw mounts that the pc guts were using.

I'd have to line it with panda film though, which would be a good idea anyway.

48" tall flowering cabs- uhaul grand wardrobe cardboard boxes. Went with single cob to keep startup costs as low as possible. Spending just $200 for a total 6.67sq ft space using ~180watts

Yeah I know right. I went to the Junkers to find something and he said "just take that, I don't care"....

Wanna know more? It was a 3.02ghz Xeon quad core :P

Edit, correction 3.2ghz. What a waste.

Problem with those old components though, they suck a ton of electricity. I was contemplating keeping it but I already have one like it and it just takes too much juice to run. Trips my power breaker when I play dota and have any heaters / microwave running :$

Reality of this though, you can buy that PC used for 120$cdn with TWO 3.2ghz quad xeons. So it's not really such a tragic affair.

yeah PR its starting to look pretty good. that's a pretty good find of components as well for getting it for free running dual quads and up to 16 gigs ram 8 core total with 16 pin slots for an upgrade on graphics sata for 3 tb mem a that motherboard... those alone would make a great gaming pc especially for a smell (DELL). throw it in a 75 dollar tower with stock power supply.. perfect budget gaming desktop. if u were near me I would've took those components off your hands. I console game more often but don't mind a little wow or diablo every once in a while. ill be building a grow cab in the next few days look for me I'm going flouro tho

Filter box

I measured the pieces of wood I'll go get to enclose the top and back of the filter.

23.5" x 8" for the top
23.5" x 3" for the inner lip

I'll connect those before I measure and cut the back plate. The back piece will be removable so that the filter can be replaced. Also since there is a lip between the metal frame I will have to figure out anyway to make it air tight, so I'll wait until the other walls are in place before I do any more measuring.

Doh! The piece of wood I cut is the right size, but it won't go past the metal ridges.

I think this is going to require precision cutting, which since I only have a hacksaw may prove difficult

Screw the hacksaw I need a table saw. I'm gonna go find somewhere that can cut this for me.

Home Depot has a radial chop saw and a huge sheet cutter, they won't cut small pieces.

thanks you guys are free to hop over there leave some comments or suggestions
maybe u could cut one large piece for the top and leave the back up against the wall that way u don't have to block off the filter and it still wouldn't be an eye sore just drill some holes through that frame and through your wood and 4 bolts to bolt it down?
