I just called my local hydro place and it's 20 bucks for a quart of PH down... anyone got cheaper effective solutions?

I go with battery acid, phosphoric acid. Not only does it adjust ph, but feeds your plants Phosphorus. You can pick it up in the auto parts store. A little goes a very long way-- Just a couple ounces diluted in a gallon of water makes a great ph down. Just be very careful when handling-- use a battery siphon and gloves. The undiluted acid is nasty strong stuff.:fire:

wow dude I haven't worked with that since.. well since I was making bad things that use that perticular ingredient... are you sure it's safe? Those 2 years I had enough battery acid to last me a lifetime.

start of this thread, and i jus chk again still holdin, ill keep chkn over the next 24 hr,if she stays stable, what the hell, you can get it at the dollar store for what? a buck? you in dirt or hydro? fyi 100% lemon juice also has: sodiun benzoate, sodium metabisulfite, sodium sulfite a preservative, and lemon oil,now that sounds like alot of sodium to me,but im no chem engineer, might take a goggle or two to find out if thats bad (prolly just preservatives),but then again your nutes are salt to,if she holds over 24 hrs id call it stable whatcha think?

i have tried methods of saving money for ph down,, then realized it just wasn't worth it. The one thing no one considering is that the majority of the suggestions are of not food grade quality. Lemon juice & vinegar work but not for very long. go to dc hydro dot com you can get a gal of ph down for like 25 bucks. will last a very long time and it is of food grade quality.

do some of them work ..yes, but is smoking the buds they produce safe? I know, i wouldn't want to make hash out of anything that wasn't of food grade quality.

I use it also. Make sure you get the batter acid SOLUTION, not the pure or nearly pure stuff and add it to distilled water.

I think the solution from Advanced is sulfuric acid not phosphoric and it is ~30% strength.
