I can't remember where I bought these from, either Walmart or Meijer but i'm looking at a case of
12 Ball Wide Mouth 1 Qt jars. I paid $12.57 for the case.

Spagetti sauce jars are a good idea...But a little small.
Well, Classico brand spaghetti sauce comes in an standard 24 ounce Mason jar. Soak off the label and the jar itself is functionally identical to any normal sized canning jar you'd buy at Walmart. Bigger sized sauce jars are available too.

Also, there is no particular reason why you can't use ANY glass jar. Apple-sauce, olives, pickles, whatever. Go look in your fridge.

If you go to your local recycle center, or even rummage through your neighbors bins on recycling day, you will probably be able to pick up as many jars as you like for free.

Again, just scrub the insides with hot soapy water (your dishwasher could work) dry well, and you should be good to go.

For those who prefer larger containers, Walmart and Target sell 1gal cracker jars for ~$4. Target also sells Anchor-Hocking 2.5gal airtight jars for less than $20; the 1.5gal are a little less. Not cheap, but an excellent value. FWIW, I use the 2.5gal jars in my op.

I use the big jars from the container store. If the nugs are dense a half pound per jar with some room for air.

For the storage of food you should use vacuum bags or various storage container that have much good quality. One of the site which is dealing with this is http://orved.it/ which is an online outlet for supplying vacuum packing machines, storage bags, cooking bags, vacuum bags, and channelled bags etc. This offers good food storage option.

If you want to buy by the pallet, a 32oz jar costs around 35 cents each, Of coarse shipping is high but their are many different vendors that you can pick it up yourself and save.

Some of the meetup sites have advertisements looking for people to split orders
