Lol, that'll work, bamboo stick nice and simple :) Like the submerged ball valve idea, easy to temporarily stop the flow, nice.

No it's on topside of the unit for ez access -it's in the pic at the start of the thread I think you can see it anyway...its the red valve. I mention it because I added it almost as an afterthought but it's a vital part of the system. Use it everyday to check ph- which keeps slowly rising btw- still dialing in the proper ppms to regulate the ph. Definately a learning curve to NFT-aero

I built both an aerocloner and a mini-aero cloner to fit in my small veg cab but have yet to produce some clones...the mamas are still babies growing in small pots or solo cups atm in the nursery but I am excited about all the new strains I'll have this summer: skunk #11, white lavender, blue dream, and strawberry sour diesel. The perpetual phase is the main goal for doing all this and its actually been a year or more in planning to get here.
I guess you could say I am fully addicted to the whole cannabis way of living as well. I medicate once in the am and once in the pm but when I used to have to make phone calls to get weed I would chase a high I never actually attained and smoke all frikkin day. I dont watch TV. I hate it. But I love watching my plants and planning grow projects and whatnot. I get more done now than ever before while maintaining the grow with not much effort. Showing up to work staying productive & feeling awesome. Sometimes I overhear things about people getting busted selling herb or pills or how they cant find good weed. I smirk and think about the dank I got curing in jars and the fatass dab Im doing when I get home. keep me updated gro good luck

The PPms are now up to around 680 I was trying for 750 but Im leaving it there for the next couple weeks and adding back only water....ph seems to be stable for now and the res is now mostly full. I expected to go to 12/12 in 3 weeks but I think it may be more like 2.

Plants are looking good. Funny, I smoke very little nowadays, usually once at night, I like making tea with it for meds, but the growing is one of my favourite hobbies, I give some to folks with the C word who don't have access to it or money, sell just enough to pay for the hobby to those who can afford it, it's very rewarding. I also gave up watching TV a few years back, a movie here & there, always too much to do, between hockey, soccer, skiing/boarding, writing music, and the growing there's no time left to sit around getting fat and frying my brain with commercials :(

Just took the advice of everyone who told me my ppms were too low in another thread....lol. was having issues keeping the ph down because they were taking nutrients so fast...700 seems to be the magic number but yeah I thought its too much too they are very deep green and shiny now..leaving it as it is they seem happy but adding back only water til next nute change. Im telling you with nft it seems like they dont mind high nute concentrations...might even go by the recipe chart next time which says I should be at 1000ppms right now ha

Ok I officially hate autos...plants are 7 weeks old & already in preflower. They are about the size of cabbages...don't even look like mj. Maybe I shouldn't have topped fimmed & supercropped them? Oh well they are real healthy and lush; happy little dwarf plants bursting with energy- hope the buds will be big on these nice fats stems...they are less than 8" high 10" wide here's updated pics

They're looking better, you must have backed off a bit on the nutes, lighter colour than a week or so ago. The super-cropping on autos may have affected them a bit, it's high stress for any plant, not sure how it affects autos as I've never run autos. They look healthy though and the colouring looks better.

Actually haven't touched it since bringing the ppms up to 700 & ph is stable... They are getting lighter green though now...might up the nutes even more in a week they are growing so fast...gonna be switching to bloom formula soon they are already preflowering. So wanted to train them some more & let em get bigger before flowering but these autos have a mind if their own...next set will be regular fem cuttings these were good as lab rats for the maiden voyage of the NFT rails...fastest veg I ever did 3 weeks

They are flowering out now...still haven't switched to the bloom nutes- they caught me by surprise thought autos would not flower on their own in 24 hrs light turns out that's wrong. So put then in 18/6 & switched over to the HPS. They seemed to like it

thanks- its crazy like those pics are 6 days apart- keep peeking on them a couple times a day..theres new growth every time
