Check out the crazy genetics on my Northern Lights seedling

I created a post when I first started growing this little lady, I noticed from the beginning that there was something different. Take a close look at her leave structure, there are 4 finger leaves rather than 3 or 5 and her first set of true leaves twisted pretty much exactly how they look now, gimme your input guys

Looks fine. Sometimes leaves grow in funky. Nothing to worry about.

Its not genetics is poor grow conditions....

its never what they want it to be.

she wants a bigger pot, better soil, organic fertilizers and hates fox farms products, just so you know.....

Kinda looks like spider mites

You're the only one who hates fox farm, maybe you should email them about it. Seems you have a bone to pick with them, plenty of people use fox farms without problems and excellent results. Just because you have problems with it does not mean it's a bad product. They've been around and will be around. You're like a broken record with the fox farm, get over it. You don't like them. Ok, now continue giving mediocre advice I always see you spout. I think you need to educate yourself a lot more before you continue giving advice, most of it is rubish.

um, I like foxfarms. My point is near daily I read in threads of serious issues. More often than not fox farms soil or ferts are being used with plants suffering, thats it. I got no bone. its a hot fert. I figured out how to manage it before I switched to promix for the win.

You can't blame a product for user error. Fox farms ocean forest IS NOT the only product they have. If you decide to start seedling in it, and have adverse affects. Whose fault is that? Plenty of info on fox farm products for mistakes not to be had. You make it seems as if Fox farm is an all around terrible product. Saying cannabis plants don't like it is just dumb. What line of products do you recommend? Better yet do you have your own line?

nope, old, retired guy, middle of the woods, smile, animals, fish ponds, chickens, ducks, rabbits, deer, stuff like that. no manufacturing, no dispensary affiliations, no product consulting, no freebies, nuthin man, just me.
what you say is true, but realize I see the same common denominator often here, I cant ignore that, and mostly poke fun at it. If I could collect it all somehow, in one place, I'd do it. every time its discovered stick it in the same place, like it sorta is in the newbie threads. dont shoot the messenger aye

oh, sorry. I used DM gold in flood and drain tables for a few years, then changed to promix/fish powder in veg and promix/organicare crumbles/and botanicare pure blend org compost solution in flower. I love it, but surely growers fail doing the same.

Getting these early stages is really hard, do not stress just hope to fuck she takes off well. From your first pictures to now a lot has happend so you should be able to get a handle on whats going wrong and whats going right.

imo: potup to a larger /3usg pot

with fox farm and perlite a 50/50 mix is good

I was once told you can spot low quality dirt by its use of bark as filler. That was when the illusion of foxfarms being good started to slip.

In my side by sides foxfarms was better than other soils in its class, roots organics and the constant gardener soil were the side by sides.

I've found another soil simply labeled professional mix, costs a bit more than fox farms, but it has no recycled forest products, aka bark, and instead uses coco coir as filler. Plants seem to really love it however I haven't done a side by side with ffof yet, prolly won't though.

Fox Farms ISN'T bad soil, it's great soil, just not great for MJ in my opinion. Unfortunately I bought the bag of FFOF early in my gardening experience, I actually wanted to add perlite but all I can find is Miracle Grow (fuck that) or super expensive perlite and in all honesty I'm not gonna spend that kinda money on a micro grow set up. Once I have this grow under my belt Im definitely changing medium. I love soil, so it's not gonna be Coco (sorry you die hard Coco guys) share your experience with me, what works best for you and what do you add

I have no idea why bark would mean crap soil, bark adds air space and water for droughts, why is coco any better in a soil!

The bark lowers the soil ph as time goes on, if you don't veg for long or reuse the soil you may never notice, I never throw mine out though, I just remix it.
You'll also notice that soils that use bark are "heavier" the coco as a filler instead makes it much airier. And I highly doubt the roots can take the same advantage of a chuck of bark as they can coco fibers.

I love ffof, so don't misunderstand me, it works really well, and better than the competing big brands. I generally prefer happy frog of ocean forest, but both are good. However that doesn't mean they are top dog or using the best ingredients, we should all know by now good results can be had using suboptimal tools.

I'll be buying this other stuff tho from now on though assuming it's available, plants visibly like it better and grow faster.
