Thanks for clicking this thread. I know the hyped marketing title was a bit cheeky, but I am asking a question...

I am thinking of getting this combo...

Can-Filter Carbon Filter 33 - http://www.amazon.com/Can-Carbon-Filter-Prefilter-Separately/dp/B001JILVRI/
Can Max Fan - http://www.amazon.com/Can-Fan-Inline-6-Inch-Minute/dp/B004C2IWIE/
Can-Fan Flange - http://www.amazon.com/Can-Fan-504112-Flange-6-Inch/dp/B003AUA6EC/

In fact, if you look at any of the pages, all 3 are listed as the "Frequently Bought Together"

I just want to know if it seems like there may be any issues with this. It all looks good to me, but this is pretty new to me. Is there any reason this combination will not work? It will be installed on a 6" aluminum duct. Is this the right kind of fan for this situation? The grow room is a closet about 3' x 8' but only half the space is actually taken up by plants, so basically 3' x 4' grow space (duh). The filter should be strong enough right? The fan is plenty strong enough with plenty of cfm right? These will all connect together properly yes? No other parts necessary eh? Any problems or advice at all regarding this?

Thanks ahead for any input. I know Snaps-Provolone will be proud of my dropping the DIY carbon filter idea..

OP not to steal your thread but I'm curious about your purchase choice; is that can fan supposed to be quieter or just more reliable? I have a noisy Hydrofarm unit that is a lot cheaper and was thinking about changing...

Again, pardon the barge in

No problem, thanks at least for some reply, which is more than anyone else can claim...

About the fan, at discount-hydro.com it says quote:

"The Can-Fan Max Fans bring centrifugal fans to a new level. More powerful and efficient than standard centrifugal fans, the Max Fan has the power to move a lot of air efficiently. Comes with an 8' power cord and a 5 year warranty."

And one of the reviewers on Amazon said quote:

Quiet Quiet Quiet!
"If you are looking for one of the quietest fans on the market, this is it. This (smaller than the average) inline fan packs a punch and moves air fast. Runs a 1000w light and carbon filter with ease on the lowest setting."

And other reviewers said it is quiet and very strong. So I think that answers your question. It also has built in speed control in the power cord I think.

...One thing the fan can't prevent though is the sound of air rushing through the duct. If you have that problem, get a bigger duct, and even better, an insulated one, a lesson I learned the hard way.

(I tried to edit that in but I got a bogus vbulletin message "the message is too short, must be at least 10 characters" wtf???)

That is a wonderful combo. I use mine in a sealed 4x4x6 room and have absolutely 0 smell even with six ladies at peak harvest point. Quiet as hell and when paired with an Air-3 controller and CO2 equipment I am rocking it.

The filter is heavy though. One thing I would recommend is the purchase of the can-lite filter in the 33 size. It weighs almost nothing so it is easier to lift and adjust, etc. I do everything myself so the lighter the better.
