i meant to put 3. Im terrible with the wattage calculations im purely going on my personal experience. My 300 is growing a 24"x24" canopy plant with no issues
I think with 3 hes gonna have coverage issues , 4 he can use 1 per 3x3 section and hit good numbers everywhere.

if your gonna consider going hps or cmh, id choose 4 x 315s cmh...again, 1 per 3x3 section ....the issue with the 600w is gonna be the same, coverage, they will only cover 3.5 x 3.5 at best, so even if you used 3 in that space, there will be areas not getting optimal numbers. This is the same 315 i own, it grows great weed and has good coverage for a 3x3....perfect for 2.5x2.5

Just know HPS gets pretty hot. I have a 400w system collecting dust in my basement right now for that reason. My tent is in a closet so even with fans, the hot air had nowhere to go and the tent became an oven for my seedlings lol.

Yep for sure, fill a 6x6 with hps or cmh and heat management will be a priority, this is where LEDS kickass, they require the extra heat because of the lack of IR, so we use much higher temps without using co2 and the plants love it. With hps, you best keep the temps within a good range or you will def have issues. Unless your running co2, then temps can be much higher ala @Renfro ....i think his rooms are running at 85-87f with 1100ppm of co2, if i remember correctly.

how high have your temps personally gotten with LEDs with no signs of issue? I suppose part of that would be strain dependent but somewhat general im sure

So here is the question to my original post The lights that I posted in the link that I purchased that were supposedly 1200 watts but are actually 250 watts if I ran four of those in the tent would that be enough?

That's a lot of money to spend on that kind of light. I wouldn't do it, but they would be enough. You'd be a lot happier with HPS if you can exhaust the heat.

Theoretically yes, they would work, once again, you wont be hitting optimum numbers on the perimeter of a 6x6 with 4 of those imo....Also those types of led lights still generate a ton of heat, so that must also be taken into account.

Personally i would go with HPS before those blurple leds, and as ive said, for good coverage in a 6x6 id prob go with the 315 cmhs.

you've been given some super solid advice in this thread, man. Much better than i was given in the beginning. If youre cutting corners on lights, you should make sure you have room in your budget for 20+clones/seeds, pots, medium, amendments/nutrients, fans, odor control, etc. caring for that many plants isnt cheap or easy

its a light that is 255watts of blurple with huge and bogus claims of being much more

it claims to replace a 1200 watt HPS, thats just utter BS.

This light will be lucky to replace a 315cmh and it wont grow nearly as good as the CMH imo.

OP, you can do much better than this one, personally, id stick with HPS or cmh in the same price range, you will get way more bang for your buck....Either that or be prepared to spend a bit more and buy yourself some proper led lights ( hlg,timber,cutter,amare,diyleduk.... etc)
It's actually a 235watt light I would go for cob leds even if it's the same wattage will give a bigger yield and better veg growth
