using lights gives you smaller plants but more grows per year, but none of the cost etc:mrgreen:

Im up North and its really cold. Would it be too late to start growing outdoors now? Or should i wait till next year to try it?

up north you have less daylight than here

best to wait for next year. grow them early under lights and then put them out. get a strain that is resistant to mold and stuff. try for a plant that doesnt have a 8 week pluss flowering time as well.

i think my advise is ok, i am just learning as i go on :D

i cant recomend anything as i have only done it once. if you go into the 'seed strain' forum or 'outdoor' they will be able to give you a heads up, failing that ask FDD he seems to be the king of outdoor. i have been following him around pinching bits of useful info :D

i spose it depends on what you want the plants for in the first place. i want to smoke my own and not have to pay through the nose for crap. some grow for business and need a constant turnaround. i will store my excess and hopefully have enough till next time :blsmoke:

Can anyone advise me whether i should have turned the fan off now. Im on about week 4 into flowering and just read in another thread that they like heat when flwering...Is this true?
also should i have trimmed the leaves?

I read that you need to trim off all the big leaves so that the plant feeds the buds and doesnt waste energy feeding the leaves. I hope this is so as ive been up in the attic this morning and trimmed them already. I have 3 plants under a 400 light. Now that ive trimmed them the light is reaching to the bottom of the plants that were quite shaded before. I just hope thet gonna be okay :-?

that is fine it is just goin to make the plant more bushier... and the ones at the bottom that don't get any light you should cut those off too.
