Chicago will no longer arrest, only ticket for small amounts. Yes!

It is a good thing, first off crime will go down, if they are not arresting the jail costs will also go down. With that said other cities will notice this and join in over time. The first step is the best step. Groundbreaking for sure and worth watching to see how it develops.

To be honest..the city is pretty cool when it comes to weed..there are a dozen or so open air weed spots that do not get fucked with..weed only..the ones they shut down are heroin, crack n weed...but the weed only spots are pretty much left alone...I have been let go a few times with green..most cops really don't give a damn about weed unless you are a real dick to them.

Too many Rethuglicans in south illinois would be against it

true, but they are in farm towns...the majority of the population is Chicago and the metro area and the are majority dems and dems run the state for the most part.If we could get a governor to stay out of the can for 2 terms maybe this will get done.

So instead of jailing people for a harmless crime, there is a tax for being a stoner who can't see the fuckin cops coming...

This legislation is fiscally wise.

Why do you think the slums and inner-cities have more Democrats?

My state passed the same par a few years ago. What a great start as far as I am concerned. Watch out though, they can still pop you with a DWI if youre caught driving while smoking or whatever.

Thats the thing..not a state law....you get out of the city and these suburban pussies have nothing better to do then pull cats out of trees and seize your car and ruin your month by arresting you for having an ounce on you..hell they arrest people in the burbs for having a pipe or a gram or 2.
