So like the title and Xzibit's song say, choke me spank me pull my hair, we are LST'ing some ladies in here.

I start my clones, once rooted, in 4 inch pots. I will bend them to one side or the other. Then when they get the up-pot, I plant them in a corner and pull them across the pot. I have holes drilled in the lip of the pots at each corner and the middle of each side. I can get a really good set of colas this way. :weed:

These are my Goddess plants and I like tying them down as much as they like being tied down :hump:

Hey Rocky Mountain High, howsit?
So I have to ask, what are the benefits of this procedure? And what exactly does it mean. Low Stress Training, I just don't get how tieing the plant down lowers the strees on it.....anyway, if you could, please enlighten me.

Hey guys, I'm no expert but I have done some research and have been growing for a few years now.

My understanding is that LST is actually Less Stress Training. I believe that topping and fimming would be higher stress on the plants as you are actually cutting them. There is also super cropping, where you pinch and bend. The idea behind it, and the others, is to have several, as opposed to one or a few, main bud sites on the same level of your canopy, same distance from the light. This way instead of getting one main cola you get 10 or more. Its less stress as the plants pretty much just keep reaching for the light and growing. Whereas topping can sometimes slow the plant down, from shock and stress. Some plants don't 'top well' genetics or other factors, but all plants can be lst'd I think.

Thanks for taking a look guys.

Cool man thanks for the info! At what stage in the plants life would you fold the branches over like that? I'd imagine earlier on, as it would be too damaging when the main trunk is thick.
Anyway, I am looking into this technique aswell, I have a small grow space and only a couple of seeds (5 fem White Widow to be exact) and I wanna get the most out of 'em as I can.

Anyway, cheers bro!

Peace

Its actually called "Low" stress training. Rocky mountain has the right idea in regards to increasing colas/yield but its called "Low Stress Training" because you're making the plant adapt (training) to growing at a "Lower" height. The branches get spread apart allowing light to penetrate to lower branches allowing them to grow and form more bud sites. Another alternative is the SCROG method (Screen of Green) which is also a highly effective method of training.
