The guy that started this thread doesn't care, so not sure why I do.
It's fun to discuss and learn from each other but if we don't listen it's pointless.

that article is shady ive had all of the soil, that ive imported, mixed and have contracted out to be mixed all tested to be free of chemicals over the 17 years ive been doing this on wsu campus I have spread thousands of yards on a single job site and probably a hundred thousand yards or more and every last bit of it has been tested every time including any mulch that was used

Organic is superior in every way except, on occasion, practicality.
Chem ferts fuck up plants (in the long run) and the planet.
They do work though.
And for a novice growing indoors may be the safest bet for bringing in a first harvest.

Without chemicals, your plant won't grow. Water,nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus are all chemicals! Now do you mean to say that the soil you've tested is free of heavy metals? That I can understand. Plenty of people give the word "Chem" a bad connotation but that's not the case

If you want organic , hydro and bottled nutes are not organic. Build your own soil. Cootz mix or super soil, etc...
