Choosing the right bulb!

Hey guys, as this is not my first grow i want to get the lighting and everything correct this time round. My first grow was not too successful as i had way to many plants in a small place with terrible lighting.
This time round i am growing some auto's and i want to grow one at a time with a CFL and just wanted a bit of advice on what kinda bulb i would need for a heavy yeild!

What kind of spectrum do i go for, veg? flower? dual?
What kind of watt bulb do i need?

think many small 23 or 26 watters if you insist on cfls... one large bulb in cfl will aggravate and DISAPPOINT YOU

okay to properly answer your question the rule of thumb for oz's off cfl growing 100w the first plant and 50 watts there after for every other plant

soft white is for fower and its color temp is 2700k thats for flower
daylight is for vegg and its color temp is 500k-6500k thats for vegg

now dont go by the rating on the box you want true ratting and the reg store bought ones are 23-26 watts so if you did 2 plants then you wud need in total 7-8 cfls

or you can buy the 45 watt cfls they are 3x the size i get them at walmart they are about 15 bucks

also for the best cfl quality in bulbs ive used green globe they are the best cfl's ive seen around and dont cost a arm and a leg

also in vegg use 500k-6500k only then in flower you can use a mixture of both a 1/3 ratio you wont be dissapointed


and dont let anybody tell you you cant grow shit with cfl just check my first grow i did w/w and ak-48 and i pulled oz's off mine

the left is regular cfl and the right is the 45 watt cfls i use for veg i get at walmart for 15 bucks

Wow, erm okay that helps a lot! im now just stuck on what to do haha!
Im doing a small one plant at a time grow so i want them nice and bushy so i can have a big yield for each one.
And i have been doing my research and to be honest CFL's are the way to go!
As im growing autos should i be getting a main bulb lets say 125w with a spectrum of around 2700k?
And then maybe a smaller 45w bulb with a spectrum of 500k-6500k?
I dont want my plants to be too big as i have limited space. But yeah thanks for the help dude!

okay what size space u got to work with ?

i push 1000w hps now and no cfl is ever gonna touch that yet trust me but for money saving way better than LED

I have around a 2ft x 2ft x 4ft, am i right in saying that is enough for one auto at a time?

Yes that space is fine if your doing autos then you dont really have to worry about size because the automatically go to flower and no need on vegging out then switching you dont even need to swith your bulbs too much really for the first part of the grow i wud do all 5000k and then a 50/50 mix of 2700k and 5000k .......then 10 days in on flowering switch over to 2700k with a few 5000k and i wud use at least 6-8 for awesome yield the more the better

so if i were you starting off i wud use 8 5000k when she is about 2 weeks old switch to 6 5000k and 2 2700k then when she starts to flower switch them again to 6 2700k and 2-3 5000k

5000-6500k is blue spectrum and that is used for growth / blue spectrum inhibits vigorous healthy growth

2700k-3000k is red spectrum and that is use to flower / red spectrum tells the plant the end of the summer is coming start budding to produce seeds

Do you think i could do more than one at a time with the space i have or do you think that will be a bit of a squeeze?

no smell, no sell , no tell.....unless you do NOT pay your bill and are not using more than 5k you dont have to worry bout the electricity police...lol.... you want to put as many small bulbs as close as you can with cfl's... IMHHO they create more heat dissipation problems than hid because of the proximity for effectiveness of the weak light.... If it were me and I have done cfl and hid I would go with a 250 watt hid at least...I have a 400 watt cmh on a mover in a 22"x44"x60" closet and I average 4-5 oz per plant with 2 plants at a time...jus saying
