Does this include unjust laws? Like slavery or denying women the vote? Christians should seek to change unjust laws. The draconian Cannabis laws in the U.S. are unjust and unconstitutional. It has been proven to have medical benefit. Over and over again. The Lord commanded us to use the herbs of the field for healing and sustenance. Cannabis is a medicinal herb. Christians should defend the use of Cannabis. After all it was used during the time of Christ's advent on earth. Kaneh Bosm anyone? The oil from this plant was used as anointing oil. Christ himself may have used it during his ministry.Hey Plume, the primary reason it is not allowed (main stream "Christianity") is it violates the law of the land as stated in the Bible. As a Christian i am to follow the law placed over me, however if the law of a government contradicts law of the Lord and or attempts to change what the Lord commands it then goes into the realm of violating the Lords Law which in turn supersedes man made government, prime example would be the US's stance against MJ.
There a lot of things that are okay to partake in as long as its done in moderation and not abused according to the bible.
Sorry not trying taking this thing into a debate, just wanted to give you some insight from a Christian who partakes in MJ.
We, as Christians, need to shake off the shame that society tries to place on us for Cannabis use. Everyone in my family knows I use Cannabis as medication. My Mormon family. My devout, very strict Mormon family. I fought for years to help get medical Cannabis in New Mexico. I dealt with a lot of negative feedback from family, friends and associates. Most of them are now comfortable with it and see how beneficial it can be (It doesn't hurt that New Mexico's medical cannabis laws are very strict).
But like you said. All things in moderation. Abuse is abuse no matter how beneficial it is.
