Christmas lights on flowering plants

Hey guys im about 2 weeks away from harvesting, and my grandpa put up some christmas lights near my plants. They are the smallest type, the bulbs the size of the end of a ballpoint pen, the type you would use indoors on a christmas tree. They are white and he uses them to scare racoons away from his fruit trees at night. My question is with the details i have given will it interrupt the dark period ? At this stage will it matter? My buddys are laughing at me and calling me paranoid but i have read alot about even a weak flash lights reverting plants to veg.

Whats your opinion?

McCormick said in his book that even a slight light during flowering could be harmful. I'm reading this guy for the first time though and am not sure what kind of an authority he is.

As a general rule of thumb, there should be no light interruptions during flowering and that's the general forum consensus.

Happy growing.

cut the fruit trees down one night
LOL i thought about it !!

Yeah i thought about taking a bulb out.Cause its the kind that if you take one out, or if one goes out,the lights dont work.Im only being cool about it cause he was cool enough to let me put them in his yard in the first place. If it was a roommate id just tell him no fucking way. They are about 2 feet away.I moved them to 10 feet and he just kept telling me it wont matter, cause he thinks the racoons come in that corner of the yard. Its my first grow and I just want it to be the best it can be.

i dont know dude i think since you are 2 weeks away from harvesting and they are tiny christmas lights you should be fine. i think light interruptions cause the most problems at the beginning of flowering when the plant hasnt really established itself yet.

i dont know what type of lighting they are but i think christmas lights are incandescant lighting which arent in the spectrum that affects plants. unless they are LEDs which is a different story.

its probably not a problem this late into flowering but you could set up a tarp or something inbetween the plants and the trees if you are really worried about it.

I go in my room once a week to spray for bug and I turn the regular 70 watt bulb on in the room for 20-30 min during the dark cycle and no problems. I was skeptical at first but my buddy assured me it would be fine and low and behold it is still developing just like normal just no intense light like a street lamp.

Yea I think people get overworried about it. These are weeds they are built to withstand a lot of stuff. And the moon gives off light during the "dark cycle" sometimes really bright light (yes obviously its lit by the sun)...I don't know the PAR in moonlight, but i'd imagine its more than christmas lights. Be worried about the raccoons :)

i grow in a greenhouse, and during the winter its snows, so i use industrial workshop blower that blows a huge flame inside a cylinder, sounds and looks like a jet engine, it creates a fair bit of light in there and ive had no problems with reverting back to veg. especially how late you are in flowering u will be fine

McCormick doesn´t seem to be aware that MJ evolved under a bright moon.

My plants flower fine just 50´ from a sodium streetlight. I think these fairy lights will make no difference.
