Greetings,

It seems really hard to get ahold of GH MaxiBloom/MaxiGrow at the moment, so I went to Canadian Tire and bought a 6-12-12 Tomato Fertilizer (says 12% Calcium also).

They've already started to flower, the stretch is done, this stuff should work right? They're tiny rocks it looks like. I figure I'd fill up a bucket, add some up, mix real well, and water just as I would the maxi-bloom.

Thoughts?

That is gonna leave a lot of Nitrogen in the final phase and typical that "rocky" type is impossible to flush away

Too much Nitrogen? Aren't most fertilizers half in Nitrogen for the flowering stage? The MaxiBloom I've used typically is

Every dry nutrient I've ever used (except organic blood meal etc) has always either needed a flush, or a round of straight up water every couple of watering/feedings

What do you guys use in flower then? I'm surprised people think maxibloom npk values are too high in nitrogen

Ive done lots of grows with maxigrow and maxibloom (don't just use maxibloom throughout, that was before they made maxigrow)

5-15-14 isn't much different than 6-12-12. I'm beginning to think though, this stuff isn't going to have all the other micro nutrients hmm

Dude, I'm in rural Alaska . If you're limited on what's available go with this stuff. Mix like you have never mixed before. Mix, let it sit and see if anything settles. If it does filter it through a coffee filter and go for it. Water only the next 2 times it needs water. Mix at 1/2 strength to start.

So feed at 1/2 strength, water, water. Feed again IF it needs feed. And if in dirt give molasses to feed the microorganisms.
