Anyone have any links for a good place to learn about LST ?
Im just wondering how you do it, AND if anyone knows, when to start training it.

I haven't seen any picture documentation about it, just people typing out how to do it.

My first attempt didn't go as I liked, but the one I've started now is going great. I have to go and do some work down there soon, so I'll update with a pic in a bit.

Wouldn't you know it, I have been looking for that post... Thats the one I saw that made me try LST!!!!

Here are some more pics I took tonight of the circular LST that hasn't been FIM'd. Thing look like they're on their way and she is growing at a nice rate.

The last pic is of a Belladonna I'm growing, but doing a different LST. I'm just pulling the bottom branches down so they grow out from under the canopy.

I'm doing something very similar to this. I am using 2 gallon mini rubbermaids for pots on my two main girls. I'm LSTing them in one direction until it hits a wall. I also topped them, and where they meet the wall I want to split the directions the tops go. Once they meet at the other end switch to flowering.

Just a quick update on what is happening with the LST. It was hard to take the picks cause it's getting really bushy. Trying to move leaves and take a pic at the same time wasn't going to well. It's growing nice and not having any problems. This is going to take at least another month I figure to go all the way around the pot.

I decided to add a couple of pics my two Belladonna plants I have going. The second last pic has been FIM'd and a little bit of LST with the bottom branches. The last pic is just plain letting her go. They both have pre sexed themselves and are both ladies. Going to take some clones of the FIM'd one tonight then put her in the grow room next week.

A quick question. I have to repot them for sure, but was wondering. Should I repot before I take the clones or after. Or should I just repot and take the clones at the same time. Not sure on how much either will shock her or if the combination of both would do more harm then good.

looking beautiful! what cloning method do u use? i havent been able to be successful at cloning yet, ive tried like 4-5 times. right now i took three clippings and put them in a cup of water under a dome under lites. im leavin them in the water for 48 hours, then adding root liquid and putting in either soil or rock wool. havent tried rockwool yet and kinda scared to.

I have some clones on the go right now I took 4 days ago. I was using peat pellets before, but I'm doing them in oasis cubes this time around.

All I do is find a healthy branch about 4 inches at least, cut at a 45degree angle.

I then pull of the bottom set of fan leaves. With my razor I make gentle slices downward from about 1/2 inch from the bottom. Usually 4 of them spaced out evenly.

Dip in liquid rooting solution for about 15 seconds, then immediately push it into the oasis cube. I didn't use the provided hole in the cube for the smaller clones, only the big ones. The smaller clones I pushed in beside the hole.

I was scared after the first day because they started to really wilt bad. After another day they straightened out(still a bit curvy, but the tops are stretching towards the light.)

I have them in a dome, but with the vents open at the top so there is no sweating going on inside the dome. They have never worked for me when they sweat. I do have the dome on a heating pad just to keep it warm in there.

When I get down there later on I'll take some pics of them in the oasis cubes so you can actually have a look.

How much longer do you have until you put them in the rockwool?

i'll put mine in tomorrow. i havent boughten the rockwool yet. im practicing on males right now cuz i only have one female vegging that i can clone from. the rest are all flowering so i dont wanna fuck up with my fem. dont know what oasis cubes are but i'll ask the hydro store lady about both oasis cubes and rock wool and see what she has to say also. thanks for the help man. pics would be lovely

Here's an update of what's been going on with the LST. Things appear to be going well. It's getting really bushy and was a bitch to take some pics, but I did manage. I had to readjust some of my clips to make it fit a bit better.

If I would change anything, I would of started to turn a lot sooner then I did. It's still growing out and pressing against the side of the pot.

i followed that circular illustration , all i did was screw hooks into the side of the pots and used galvanized wire, what you want to do is bend the main stem down so the shoots would get all the light, thus turning the new growth into your main colas, as opposed to them being weak side branching, but if your in a rush forget it, your gonna wanna veg longer to get those colas, take a look at my ladies expect another month on top of a standard veg time, these are 3FT tall 4 weeks into flower

dude, raise that stem, looks like you followed that illustration to a T, that stem will rot from the moisture in the soil...way too close to dirt bro

this is why i "rode the rim" of my pot, its gonna get bushy down that center and the shoots will be skinny and squigly...when they do get longer shoots, you might want to tie them so you can pull them outward to get light in the middle of the plant

I was concerned with the rotting of the stem when I first got started, but I did notice; with using the paper clips, it doesn't hold the stem all the way down. Just after I push them in, they raise up a little bit and as the stem grows, it raises up a bit more. So I've had no problem with rot.

It has been getting really bushy though. Because of the way this strain grows, the nodes at the top of the stem are too close together, so I FIM'd her. I pulled the lower branches across the pot and LST'd them.

I have to go and buy some good batteries for my cam. I only had some dollar store brand batteries and they won't even turn the camera on. lol. I'll post up some pics later on today.

I also used a two pot system for this plant to help with getting it closer to the light and it is working great.

I'd have to agree, give them a little more space to raise up from the soil surface but other than that you're looking good man. Personally, I think lst or scrog is the ONLY way to go indoors unless you're one of those lucky pricks that lives in the boonies & uses half their friggin basement or something. I'm only 3 weeks into flower & the budsites are just popping up allover the place & I just keep the main stem constantly bent around the pot which creates a nice scrog type of effect w/o the net....scrog nets are just for lazy lst'ers

BTW - Thumb tacks work great for tying down....stick the tacks around the rim of your pot & tie 'em down w/ kite string or whatever. They hold pretty well but if you want something a little more heavy duty, I like to just drill small holes around the rim of the pot so I can just loop the string right on through...works pretty nice.
