Citrus flavor in the stems?

So my PK is about a week away from harvest, I've flushed it with spring water the last two times I watered. Today I was plucking necrotic leaves, which I suck the stems of, and noticed a very distinct citrus flavor. Is this due to any nutes left in the plant, or is it a natural flavor of this indica, which I am just now noticing as the flavinoids and terpenes finish developing?

That's the sugars breaking down within the plants. Pretty cool huh.. happens everytime I flush as well. Let those buds soak up the rest of those sugars in the flush and you're good to go.

Hell yea it is lol, thanks! This is the first time actually flushing, as I was under the impression a flush isn't necessary when using Tiger Bloom and Superthrive:leaf:

you guys flush your plants out the same day you harvest? Like a heavy flush?

If so, how much water do you use from start to finish on the flush?

I just stop feeding my plant(s) at about two weeks before I want to harvest.. seems to do the job fairly well actually.

But, I'm thinking of trying something different on my current grow. I've got one monster (4.5ft tall; 3.5-4ft wide) nirvana Ice plant. She will be starting week #5 flowering as of tomorrow.. today's the last day of week #4 of flowering for her. She's still got a good 4 to 6 weeks left before she's ready.

I also then have one AK48 going as well, she just spit out her first set of hairs (preflowers) 5 days ago.. so she's getting ready to start week #2 of flowering.. as of this coming Sunday morning.

I'm thinking of maybe trying something different this time.. and maybe stop feeding them both nutes, the week before I harvest.. and then the day of harvest.. run about a good gallon or two of water through the medium on both plants.. and see how that works out.

What do you guys think? Should I try that? Or just stick to the 2 week prior to harvest flushing??

peace.

Ganjaluvr... I'm in Hydro. ..I start my preharvest flush after the plants have finished. I'm still trying to get it down myself. I usually bring my PPM's way down to around 4-500 in the moment I notice my plants stop feeding as much as they were. I also use 15ml of big bloom when I bring my PPM's down, and of course carbs and sugars all the way through flower.

..and during the flush, the stalks and stems have a strong orange scent.. I believe thats all the sugars the plant was storing and is now beginning to use.. crucial time.
