during my next run that I will be starting Tuesday . I am going to run a little experiment with my city tap water that is around 600ppm , and my Ro that's around 10ppm, I'm going to use same strain trainwreck, same nutes botincare, both will be from same mother plant , I just want to see how big of a difference using city water , vs RO , in vegg stage , as well as bloom and final yeild . I'm going to grow these dwc for flower and dwc/areo for clone and vegg. Will be a four week vegg period , there will be no water chiller, both rooms will be Ac cooled . for vegg will be running a 4foot 8bulb T5 starting with one bulb and working up to either 4 or 6 bulbs by the end of vegg for flower it will be two 600watt hps .I will post a copy of my city water report , along with pics of cuttings .

Well this will be good contributions for all because most feel you need ro because of unknowns in tap and if you get similar or even better results with tap you are saving folks lot of time money and extra work

But 600ppm how are you even alive ? Guess the plants will be answer this

Thanx for your advice but I'm going to experiment for my self if I took everyone's word on how to grow i would have a circus for a grow opp.

I used to use my city water which was around ~400-500 ppm but the biggest problem was it had really high alkalinity. Alkalinity is waters ability to resist pH change. So adding pH down would basically do nothing. I dealt with it for a long time just thinking I had finniky strains...when I switched to ro it showed immediately in my plants health. Good luck on your experiment!

My tap is 450-500 ppm. I also mix tap with ro to get 150-200 ppm. I no longer need cal mag and i can see a big difference in my plants. Im saving money in wasted water from the ro filter and on buying calmag.

I didn't see a question. I saw a statement that he was going to try two things. I think that's admirable. I just wish he would have returned with followup results to help others. (But, even then, it probably depends on what constitutes the 600ppms in his water.).

FWIW: Like intenseneal, I mix my 800'ish ppm tap water with RO to get 150ppm. I escaped the "cult of calmag." I don't ph my nutrients (growing in soil). Everything's been fine. Even better, I would say, compared to "calmag" and phUp.
