Clipping Leaves

Hey guys, my leaves are covering the areas bud is supposed to be growing, i only have 3 lights at the top so would it be in my best interest to clip them leaves so the light can get to them?

PS these plants has 6 sets of leaves

I'm assuming CFL. Clipping is like religion around here, one of those questions you'll have across-the-board type answers.

I prune, but carefully. If you're running CFL bulbs only, I'd only take a couple at a time over a long period as to not further detriment the plants from loss of energy. With a higher powered light (HID), depending on stage, pruning can be very beneficial.

ps. I agree with above commenter's post, if in fact you do have only CFLs or similar lights.

Yea what Spek9 said. Touchy subject. I view it as a case by case situation. Depending on your environment, lights, phenotype... Sometimes clipping a few is a must. It also depends on where you are clipping and when. If you only have 6 sets it may be too early and it may stunt the growth. Maybe add some reflective material to the sides.

well, i wanted to keep my plants smaller and stunting their growth is not a bad thing for me as they cannot get any taller or atleast not much taller
