Clone Box made cheap.

I was putting together a new clone room, and I wanted to share with all of you here. Here are the very basic items you will need.

Large Rubbermaid Box ($20)

Fluorescent Light Fixture, 2 ft x 2 bulbs ($20)

2 Fluorecent Lights, Max out your Fixture, ($20 for both)
8 ft Electrical Replacement Cord, 14 Gauge, ($10)

Wire Nuts, 14 Guage, ($2)
Electrical Tape ($1)

Those are the parts you will need to start. It is an extremely simple setup. First, drill a 3/8 hole in the side of the box. This is where your cord will go through. Then, wire your Fluorescent Ballast with the new wire. I went out of control and actually used a 1/2 conduit connector here. Make the connections to the same color wires. Make sure you connect the ground to the ground screw. Use the wire nuts to connect the wires and electrical tape to hold the caps in place. Here are some pics. The third pic is the 1/2 conduit connector.

Once you get here, you have multiple options for attaching the light to your box. You could attach it to the lid, or as you will see, I made a wood support so I can pull the light out as needed.

Plug your rig in and sit back and enjoy.

Make sure to open it once a day, or you can install fans. If you want to make it more "stealthy" paint it or put some Mylar in it. This is fine for me though.

I'm curious, how do you let airflow in when the top is closed? Does the hole for the cord on the side provide enough air?
