Clone from mother pushing leaves with 9 points?

I have a 2 month old mother. I topped her and cloned the tip in rockwool to start. They took forever to even start to root. I'm talkin 1 month. When I split the rockwool open there was just a root sheath or cap.. not roots... I then was sick of the rock wool and put them in a bubbleponic bubbler.. there were 1 centimeter roots within one day.. amazing what the bubbleponics did. It took off.

The weird thing is that once it started pushing new growth, the new leaves are 9 point leaves and there was only 7 point leaves on the mother. I find this strange?!

Anyone have any input on that? I just would have never expected it to push out 9 pointer right off the bat... especially from clone. Now I am waiting for my mother to push 9 pointers also.

Not unusual, where you took the clone from the tip of your mom, that was probably just the next count on leaves for the mothers new growth. Expect to see it on the mom before too long.

Leaf count isn't really relevant to anything, I've heard of a plant having three bladed leaves it's whole life then it got cloned and the clone exhibited normal leaves after getting rooted and acclimated. Cannabis is an odd species sometimes, I recently had a white widow x big bud seedling that didn't have a growth tip, it had this spindly little center shoot topped by a leaf shaped like a cone, one leaf.. like if you poured water into it it wouldn't have leaked out. It just took a little longer and is now growing as if it had been topped.
