Clone Question

I have just got my first 3 clones...About how long dose it take for the clones to start showing considerable growth? I have had my clones for about 15 days now and they have barely grown in that time.

what kind of light r u using? do u know if the clones were taken from a vegging or flowering plant? if they were taken from a flowering plant, that might be the reason there growth has been delayed? What medium r u using? r u giving them any nutes or r there nutes in the soil (if they r in soil) that they r in?

You have to take in count for your lighting, soil, envoriment. Im gonna guess here and say its your soil and nutes that are holding up the growing process. And i woulnt dought if your light is not enough for these babies. what kind of light are you running ? what kind of soil ? any nutes added ?

If you just transplanted it takes some time before things start thriving on the surface. It is most likely growing a good set of roots.Patience Grasshopper.

I Have a 400w mh about 18in away from top foilage. I just got them from a friend yesterday...not much info came with it beside its about 15 days off plant and yes the plant was just begining the flower stage..the guy I got it from says he used some sort of root gel compound and no clue the current median, been using pure water to feed and foilage spay......I have Some "Ocean Forest" foxfarm soil for when i transplant and i have "Big Bloom", "Big Grow", and "Tiger Bloom" for nuts when i transplant. Great 24/7 Air flow, intake ,exaust, and curculation fan. The PH of current median is 6.8ish (kinda shitty tester) median looks as if its a peatmoss, soil, and sand mix sorta...

Yea, I would transplant to foxfarm soil, just be carefully when using their nutes. Foxfarm is really concetrated, so use a 1/3 strength. I can promise good results if everything else is right on point.

first u said u had them for 15 days, now u said u got them yesterday? irregardless, the reason they have not grown yet 15 days out is because they were taken from a flowering plant. It takes a good 2-3 weeks for it to revert itself to the vegetative stage & start growing again. I would go ahead & transplant them now into ur final pot if they r big enough, since they r temporarily stunted now anyway, as to not cause them more stress when they start regrowth. Also about a week after u transplant, you can move the lights closer if u want, I would move them down to 12' above. Sounds like ur all set.

I was also wondering your thought on LST. I want to try it this time and I dont know around when to start this with clones? some say 6in some say after the 4th true node. P.S. My friend cut them 15 days ago....he gave them to me yesterday.

okay lst (low stress training) is entirely different then topping, which is done after so tall or so many nodes only so the plant gains a certain strength if u will for the impending cut. lst can be started anytime & in generally the sooner the better or in other words as soon as ur plants stems are not so fragile or too short where they cannot be bent. not the clearest of shots, but this was taken a few days ago of my clones off my now flowering plant, that are being lst.

now if u want to know about topping, it can be done above the 2nd true node, the 4th, the 6th, up to u & what u want to achieve. Check this thread out concerning topping!

What do you think I should use lst or topping.. Ive heard great things about lst with useing a screen, altho ive herd just as many good things about topping.. Whats ur opinion?

if u have the time, either is a good way to go, or a combination of both. lst is a bit time consuming, topping, one snip r done, lol. if u r going to use a screen even more time, & if u r doing it with unknown plants (from seed where sex could be a male) well trying to remove males from under the screen could be a REAL mess. All things to consider. Each has its own place & I dont prefer one over the other for all situations.

well I have 3 female clones from a sativa dominate plant. What would you do in my situation... they all seem healthy, just transplated them to their perminate pots. I do have time to do most of any thing. As long as i know what im doing... haha

I would give lst a try. those sativas tend to be thin & TALL, they will more then double in size from the time u put them in flower so u r talking about a 6+ ft plant indoors. with lst, u can create more horizontal growth & in effect ur light will be able to penetrate the buds sites much more all the way around & u won't end up with that monster vertical plant, lol.
