Clone Roots Not Big Enough?

I have a clone that I had in a 1 gal pot for about 1 week. I just transplanted it 2 days ago, but when I did, I just started to see the roots. I was wondering what the problem was when I saw all these drooping leaves the second sunlight hit that bitch. What should I do to help the plants roots grow? I have it in a 3 gal pot with Fox Farms Ocean soil mix. Should I keep it out of the light and let the roots grow? What should I do?

Thanks in advance.....

The best thing to fuel root growth is to let the pot the plant is in totally totally dry... it forces the roots to grow out in search of water...if you water too much then the roots don't have to go looking, and won't be able to support a large plant.

Alright I watered it yesterday, I guess i'll let it get dry and let the roots grow a bit more, how often should I water them?

You should have kept it in the 1 gallon pot until it became bigger. Looks to me like a freshly rooted clone. Was it in a container smaller than 1gallon before or was it rooted in the 1 gallon pot? Just don't overwater and it should overcome!!

Don't water again til the pot is totally light...
I have taken indoor plants and put them outside in direct light...
I have a mini umbrella plant that sits on my coffee table that is supposed to be a shade loving plant, but I put it outside for a few weeks on my porch in full sun and it grew like crazy, no wilting...It doesn't even have lights...
I have moved tomatoes from the tent to the garden...and not seedlings, giant tomato plants straight outside...no hardening off or any such thing...plants that love sunlight like MJ does aren't usually bothered by a switch to full sun, unless they were transplanted roughly prior to going outside...or transplanted to the outdoors roughly...It just means that roots were torn and the plant is having a hard time maintaining the amount of foliage it has compared to the roots it now has since losing some...You can wait for the roots to grow by letting the pot get light in between waterings, or you can pluck off some lower leaves...this is if you transplanted and then got these issues of course... Which you said the plant was fine til you transplanted...I would just remove a few larger lower leaves... That is what I do when a plant I transplant has a mishap mid replant, or just seems to be struggling...

Nope you can't take a plant with barely any roots and set it out in the full sun. It doesn't have enough roots supporting the water uptake necessary to counter act the heat and wind. It's rooting it enjoys a lot of water right now(up to a point). Letting the pot dry out with a clone that doesn't have a good root system going is a pretty horrible suggestion.
