clone sprays..

hey everyone.. in the first week of may i will be taking clones from a mother plant to put out in the last week of may or early june.. i've tryed to clone before just in water but it didn't work that great.. all of my clones leaves shriveled up and turned yellow.. i didn't have an airstone or pump at the time either so that may have been the cause (lack of oxygen in the water) any ways i was hoping that someone here would beable to give me a homemade "recipe" of something i could spray on my clones so they won't wilt up and die..

since my last failure i have made a contraption that i think will work.. it involves 2 tubs and an air pump (not going into great detail now)

i have very little money and i would like a solution to this prob that i could make myself... also it would be very hepful if it also detered spidermites because i had a small web on one of my clones before..

i will only be cloning in ph ed water and was wonder what would be a good ph for them also..
i will have an airstone in the tub about 3 cm away from the stems which will be submerged in 1" of water at all times... +rep to ppl who can give me the answers that i'm looking for.. thanks.. :peace:

I used wilt spray.Spray it on when ya first take your cuttings and then 1 more time after they take root and ya remove them from the dome if ya have them in one.Worked like a charm for me and I didn't loose any clones my first try at cloning.
You can read how I cloned in my journal, hit the link by me signa and you should be in fine shape.

Dude, get some rockwool cubes and some cloning gel, Spend $20 bucks at the grow shop and do it right. Get a tray with a tall humidity dome, some 1" rockwool cubes, and a small bottle of cloning gel.

You want to be looking for a stem with at least 4 nodes on take off the bottom two sets of leaves leaveing you with a plant that has two nodes and it leaves at the top, after doing this i always like to make my 45 degree angle cut under water this is just my prefrance it stop any air getting trapped causing an air folicule i make the cut between the bottom two nodes.then it is straight from the water into some rooting gel. I have tried most rooting conpounds and gel is far better than any powders but horses for courses what is good for one person is bad for another.then put your clones into some rockwool cubes make a small hole that comes out of the side of the cube this means the roots don't have to travel has far. Has soon has you see the first signs of any root could take 2 days to 14 you can never tell.soak the cubes in water and a drop of superthrive 1 ml per ltr of water squezze the excess water out you want your cudes just damp for the first week this will stop all of your rooting gel going to waste.mix up 1 ltr of water with the super thrive in and just spray the top leaves this is the only way the plant can get any food till it forms a root system.also a propagator will up your chances of getting healthy clones 100% with a propagator you spray the leaves and the inside of the lid 2 times a day morning and night.i also think that the light off period is an advantage some will dissagree but so i always have my clones on a 18/6 i think that the clones need that cooling off period but you can go 24 hrs if you want.good luck.

srry.. but that's not reallly what i'm looking for.. i don't have acess to a store that sells rockwoll cubes and i already have rooting powder.. i can make a humidity dome.. i was just wondering was there any thing that i could make at home to stop them from turning yellow and wilting.. also a natural mixture to deter spider mites... if not 2 in one.. i need the clones to live for my outdoor so i can only let one or 2 clones fail..

after dipping in the gell and placing in medium..

how often should you mist the leaves with foliar feed?

once right after you take the clones? then how often?

no.. you need to mist them any ways in order for them to get the water they need.. they have no root system so they need the sprayed water in order to stay moist and to not droop.. aero cloner is just a faster way of getting roots on the cutting..
