This is a BB Blue Cheese clone from my friend ZongedOut. Once roots started coming out of the 1" rockwool cube, I transplanted it to a 4 gallon (15 liter) container with a 50/50 soil/perlite mixture. I cant figure out whats wrong with it...The other clone taken a day before it, is doing great in the same environment..any ideas??
Thanks a lot,

Hello.

How heavy is the four gallon container?

My guess is plant moisture stress. The plant looks overwatered.

For a clone that is popping roots out of rockwool plug, I highly recommend planting in a 75/25 mix of perlite and soil, respectively, in a large disposable plastic cup. (make sure you poke holes in the bottom of the cup) This will promote quick drying of the soil medium, and you can basically never overwater it.

Dropping a newly rooted clone into a four gallon container is too big of a jump. Impractical, too. (There are, of course, exceptions. )

Either lay off of the watering or transplant it to a smaller container with better drainage.

thanks for the quick responses. I don't think I'm going to be transplanting 2 more times seeing as that would be EXTREMELY impractical to add that extra, unnecessary stress at this point in time.
If pH is the issue, I do have some dolomite lime that i picked up a few days after i mix the soil. how would I add the lime now?? my first guess would to be to put like a tbsp. on the top of the soil and just watering it right in. Would this work??

Yeah, but your talking about watering them AGAIN.

At this point it would appear that watering would do more harm than transplanting them. Yeah- they looked THAT overwatered.

Your best bet would be to let the soil go dry a few inches down , then attack the PH problem your next watering.

Good luck

Thanks a lot dudeoflife. I've actually been letting them dry out quite a bit between waterings, and plenty of runoff comes out of the drainage holes in the bottom. I'm definitely gonna let it dry out before i water the lime in.
When I checked on the clone this morning it looked worse. The yellowing is turning into browning, and the soil is only getting dryer by the day.. the problem seems to be getting worse for sure..
