Clone Transplant Timing

Hi all. I just started my 2nd DWC grow with 8x 5 gallon buckets under 2x 600W HPS lights in an 8x4 tent. My buddy was supposed to bring me 8 clones to transplant yesterday, but only managed to get 4. So now 4 of the buckets in the system are vacant. I'm able to get more clones but it could be a week. My question is how many days apart can I transplant clones without causing problems? I usually veg to about 12" before blooming. I really don't want to have to waste the extra 4 buckets. Thanks for the help.

I didn't even think about tying them down to the same height. I guess this will be my first grow experimenting with some LST. Thanks for the advice!

A great way to control height and get multiple tops without having to top a bunch of times (each cut slows the plant down) is to top it once, then let each top get a few inches tall and tie them down horizontally. It's given me some great results; the branches from the two tops all point up when the top get tied down, and each branch becomes a new top. It works really well if you have the time and space to beh pretty big.
