Clones and Light Change

Hello folks,

I have been in veg for about 30 days now. And my three plants are looking awesome! thanks to all the help from my friends on and off this forum. :)

I have a question about when i should change the light cycle.
From what i understand, I just need to change the cycle when the plants are at a height that will be workable with my box is that correct?
From what I understand, once the light cycle is switched, they will grow 2-3 times the size they are at the change of the light cycle. Any input would be great.

The other question I have is about my clones. I took two clones from each of the plants I have. I'm using a humidity dome and tray with jiffy quick rooter cubes. Three of them are rooting like crazy and the other three have roots but are not showing like the others. I am building a new room for all of them and don't know how long it will take to complete. So my question is how long can I keep the clones in the dome set up and or tray before I do any damage to them?
I am using two CFL 23W (100watt equivalent) ecosmart bulbs. Each have 1600 lumen for a total of 3200 lumens. Will the clone lighting be enough for the young clones while construction is going on? Even if I put the clones in smaller pots to get them out of the tray system?

Here are some pictures.

Plants look awesome man, great work!
First question- sounds like you got it. Plants will stretch 2-3x when flowering in induced. Once you grow the strain once and take clones you will have a better idea of exactly how much they stretch. There are alot of different methods/techniques people use when they enter flower, but simply changing the light schedule to 12/12 is fine. If your using nutes, check the companies recommendation for transitioning them to bloom. Your plants should start to stretch and show pistils in 3-14days.

Second question: Clones- I would get them into party cups or something a little bit bigger if you preffer. I always put rooted clones in party cups of coco or good potting soil. Once they root like that they no longer need the dome. Your cfls will be fine for keeping them in party cups, but make sure to keep it as close as possible or they will stretch. It's also good to get a little bit of 'wind' on them to start strengthening them up, just enough you can slightly see them moving.

You got this! Everything looks great keep up the good work

If you think height is going to be an issue don't hesitate to top your plants. Doing so would slow their vertical growth and cause some of the lower/side branches to shoot up and fill in your canopy a little more-I think you could bush them out and have a positive impact on your final yield by simply topping your pants, not to mention two main colas. Just something to think about :)

Clones-I dunno what/if your feeding them but a general rule of thumb is the less intense the light, the less food they need. So keep their feed very light. A plant under a 1000w hid could easily handle 1000ppm, but a plant under a single cfl might burn at 400ppm. Sorry for multiple posts but I keep looking at your pics and thinkig of other things.

Thank you and no problem I appreciate it.
*Is it ever to late to top the plants? Would I just pit the tops in the clone dome?
*I will transplant the three into small pots and keep them under the CFL's. I am only using two and have four. Maybe I will add fixtures to hold the other two so the rooted
plants can have more light.
*I am not feeding the clones anything but spaying the leaves, cubes and dome with a spray bottle of water.

Thank you for the advise!
