Clones flowering much quicker than from seed.

I have grown out a particular strain several times from both seed and now from clones I have taken. I was going to be done with the strain because it took most of the plants 9 weeks to finish and could have gone a little longer, all plants grom seed were vegged over a month before flipping. Now the clones that are at not quite 7 weeks look better than most at 9 weeks 12/12 on the plants from seed. Is this the norm for every strain? I realize when starting from seed plants have to reach maturity before they will flower regardless of light schedule. But I never realized how much more efficent clones are.

True, all the clones will finish flower early than seed. It's very normal for every strains.

maybe the clones are better at flowering per its genetics, if they are all sharing the same mother plant.

Plants mature and have a life cycle just like humans. The clone is already mature to a degree, whereas the seed starts as a baby and has to mature from there. The development of the plant is indicated by leaflet count. When its vegging it grows more leaflets, but once it starts flowering is starts growing less.

i was thinking along the same lines as this..
you said that you flowered the seed plants for 4 weeks before inducing flower, but were the plants showing signs of sexual maturity before you flowered them, meaning, pre flowers and or alternating nodes?
to me, it sounds like the plants weren't fully sexually mature yet when you switched to flowering, which may have taken the extra two weeks difference you're noticing..

Just like DM stated the clone is more mature. Start a seed & cut a clone on the same day, there will be at least a 2wk difference (if not more) to get both to the point where you want to flip.
