Clones from flowering plant LESS POTENT???

Hi, I've read somewhere in this forum that If I take clones from my plants, that are 2 weeks in flowering, the clones will result in less potent plants.

Is this true?

I am a first time grower, and I got xtremely lucky I guess, I have 13 out of 20 plants FEMALE, and now I want to take clones from the best plants and make them MOTHERS, so I can take 100% female clones from them in 5-6 weeks, by that time I should be harvesting my current plants, and wont loose precious time growing from seed and waiting to show sex again.

It usually best to take clones when a plant is in the veg stage and not flowering. but like kushcrosser says, they will be exact copies of the mother.
good luck.

yeah, I would have taken them earlier, but I wanted to know the sex first

I am not in a hurry, and it won't be a bad thing if I loose a few days to revert from flowering to vegging

plus the bottom of the plants seem much less developed, they don't even have pistils yet, unlike the top of the plant, so I guess it won't be too hard for the clones to go back to veg :)

will clone as soon as my root gel arrives :)

WHAT I want to know, is can I put clones directly into soil, or I need to put it in rockwool or something?

I have taken cuttings from plants 5 weeks in flower b4. No problems at all. It takes a little time for them to revert back to veg and they will sometimes get all crazy and shit and throw out twisty single fingered leaves. After some tim in veg normal leaves will appear again. I use straight perlite for cloning. I have also made a ghetto bubble cloner as well and had mixed results with it. The perlite works best for me and you get crazy ass roots. I use a 10 gallon fish tank that i invert over my tray, i then use a 2 foot flourescent with a total of 40 watts of grow lux bulbs. Works great. If i need to vent i just prop up one side of the tank. Works and is cheap. Usually find old fish tank for free. Even a cracked one will work.

No you can clone whenever you want or even reveg the entire plant and it will be just as potent. @ weeks is actually a great time because you know they are female and you cleaned up the bottom of the plant. I use peat pellets for cloning, you can get them at home depot, ace, sears, lowes. I dip my clones in cheap rooting powder, stick them in peat(so you can use soil if you want), then put them in a humidity dome and i have roots in a week or 2

10x a lot dudes, I'll use regular soil, I prefer to stay away from mediums that are not ph neutral

I also think misting the plants with weak 1/10 grow nutes will be beneficial? What do you think?

those coco cubes do look and sound nice, but my local dealer doesn't have it, he has only regular coco bricks

I will go for a mix of soil and perelite, I also have Clonex rooting gel
