Hi,

I have been growing for years, but never had a problem with my clones, but i moved countries and the soil that i am using here is made by locals and has no labels or NPK Ratio. so i guess thats the problem...but cant fix it!! info and pics listed below. appreciate the help

Mother plants:

Chronic
L.A confidential
Super canalope
N.L 2 x 5

Clones: have ben 25 days in soil and not growing.
Soil used for cones : Peat moss
P.H: 5.5
Temp:25C to 27C
Humidity: 75%
Lighting: 18hrs on 6hrs off 400Watt MH
NPK: did not add yet
Rooting: Clonex Gel + Rockwool + heat mat and then after rooting i use peat moss.
Room Size: 3MX2mX2m height Good ventilation.

I have a digital P.H meter and EC/PPm

Mothers are in great health.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

ph too low? not fimilar with peat moss but even hydro 5.5 is too low. I keep my ph 5.8-6.2 anywhere in between. In soil the ph needs to be much higher. 5.5 you can get away with in rockwool but planting in peat moss may require higher ph. I don't like your humidity either, but i don't think it has anything to do with the def symptoms.

Thanks 303...so all these symptoms on leaves are caused by Ph being too law. i will increase the air out to decrease humidity to 60%. is that ok?

One more question is it ok to place the rock wool in soil after rooting ?

Its better, my desired humidity is 50%. Some indoor environments without expensive equipment just can't maintain the perfect humidity but 60% is better. At 75% you'll run into problems down the line.

I have never grown in peat so to be honest, I am not sure what to advise.

Yes, ph your solution up to 6.3-6.5. My instincts tell me you might want some lime in there but I don't know how that works with peat...I will do some research.

If I were you, I would give them a 1/4 to 1/2 strength dosage of nutes added to water the next time they need watered, and make sure it's ph'ed properly.

But don't water them again with anything until they are ready for it. You don't need to add an overwatering problem.

No, to fix it you are going to have to add lime (dolomitic or calcitic) to the mix to correct the pH. pHng liquid is temporary at best and won't fix anything.

I've grown in peat based mixes for years, and without the lime you are fighting an uphill battle.

It can take a couple days.

I like to use Mykos @ 1 TSP right under my clones when they are transplanted.

But, how do you know they aren't rooting into the soil? You shouldn't be able to see it...are you digging them back up and looking?

Actually i dont djg to see but i was transplanting some in new soil and discovered none rooted into the soil. i think it is the PH problem, i transplanted all into new soil and i am going to wait and see.

speero78- I have had issues in the past when transplanting rockwool cubes into soil. The rockwool cube tends to hold alot of moisture compared to the surrounding soil. If you are watering too often then the clones have no real reason to send roots out into the surrounding soil since they are getting all the moisture they need at this early stage of growth from just the rockwool. They will root out into the soil faster if they are allowed to dry out more between waterings. I also try to avoid watering right in on the cube itself, but just lightly water the surrounding soil..... the rockwool will pull moisture in from the surrounding damp soil and it helps force the plant to send new roots out in search of the moisture. Hope this helps. Rock
