clones very slow

hi all .

a question on my new clones ,i took some clones which i had in a heated propagator i used root riot cubes ,i had them in the propagator for about 15-16 days ,all the clones rooted through the blocks nice .
so i got them ready & placed them in big pots with coco soil in my grow room under a 600w bulb .iv had them on 18-6 for 10 days now ,but the plants are very slow ,in the 10 days they have hardly grown at all .iv only give them water & sprayed with a little rhizotonic diluted .also a few off the clones seem to be going a palish green colour ,but there not dying .like the leaves are fading in color slightly .

why you think the slow growth ,is it normal ,does it take this long for them to get rooted properly

That 600 might be abit too much for a week or so. Got any cfls laying around or a floro tube? Stick em under there until a nice root ball developes and thye can get enough water to survive under the better conditions. Speaking of which have the roots continued to grow? You can sorta tip em over and let it fall out to check but do it slowly and dont take it out all the way jst case it aint rooted. They wont grow too fast til they get a nice root structure so focus on that first. Its also nice to keep em on heat pads til they fully root keeping the soil warm n moist

you gotta use cfls at that age and make sure your temps are right, they're kind of sensitive that young. i usually just give them distilled water

You really want about a week of acclimation. If you're plants aren't wilting then your ok there. A 600 should start 3' or even 4' above canopy. But this doesn't sound like your problem either. Over saturated medium can cause plants to go in to what I call "suspended animation" they don't grow they just sit there. This can be a difficult step, you want the medium to be dry between watering but not too dry. You need to get a feel for what a dry pot feels like (by weight) before they wilt. Hope this helps.... good luck!!!

they could just be working on roots, but usually this has slowed down after a few days, depending on the pot size

I keep my plantpot about two feet above the floor and my 1k/hps approximately four feet above the growing medium. I circulate canopy air under my plantpot for various reasons.

thanks all ,don't think a have over water, only give them a bit of still water sprayed with bit of rhiza not gone mad ,i had the 600w light hanging pretty high up so not to fry them ,they seem ok not dying but very slow at coming on ,been in 11 days now & very little change ?
i have turned the 600w light off now & put 2 fluorescent tubes in see if it will bring em on a bit ?have i done the right thing ?

Yes I belive taking them outta that 600 n under the floro is the best course right now, Have you been able to check the roots structure to make sure they are still growing? Give it another few days dude, when you start seeing a bit of yellowing in the center of new growth I would give em a little feeding and then under the 600, Cause they will be starting veg then.

ok mate thanks ,will give it few days see if any change uder the floro tubes ,only got 2 tubes tho so not that bright of light ? what about the heat ,do i need to worry about that ?
what do you mean by a little feeding ,i have A+B & cannazime & rhiza ,do you think i should do a mix & give each plant a little ? see what happens ,i have noticed a bit of yellowing on some of the plants when they was under the 600w i thought that may be stress from the heat maybe .

cheers

no , they will start to yellow, Using all the nutrients and energy in the leafs to build roots. Which is why I said see if you see them starting to yellow, Sorta of a good thing.

When you start to see growth give a LIGHT feeding mixing it at a 1 / 4 strength - or even just buy another nutrient made for clones / youngings that enhance roots and then give them the A-B mix when they are set and bigger later on.
