Clones wilting!!!

This is my third time cloning but everytime I clone, MY CUTTINGS WILT & FOLD OVER! I followed normal protocol, sterilized blades, put cuttings in purified water AND distilled water, ive used clone-x (and other types of root stimulators), i tried scraping te bottoms of the cuttings, ive tried NOT scraping the cuttings, i kept them well humidified & under a dome, under flourescent lights, etc, etc, yet they still wilt & fold over! Some of them survive, some dont! What the heck?!!! Any input?

I use Clonex and Collars with net pots (Cut the bottoms off the net pots to keep the roots from tangling). I use tap water straight from the faucet. When I take the clipping i shave the bottom 1/2" of the stem, dip in clonex and its in the collar and in the cloner within 2 minutes of being clipped. Once in a while 1 will wilt but within 24 hrs its right back up. within 10 days the roots start. I do have an airstone in the 6 pot cloner (Home Made)

I THINK THE KEY IS GETTING IT IN THE WATER FAST!!!
Every one of my clippings has rooted.

Same strain each time or different? I had a white widow mom whose clones would wilt despite perfect conditions. Took northern lights clones at the exact same time and environment but they looked great. The wilting clones recovered and perked up after a few days, but it always perplexed me why it happened to one plant and not another. I figured it was genetics related.

Thanks for the info. I cloned twice with the same Blue Dream strain & it happened both times. This time I cloned XXX OG Kush & it happened again.

Thanks! Ill try putting them in water asap next time although I do think I was pretty quick this last time. I was wondering what the airstone does for clones? Add humidity? Never heard of this.

You need to post photos of your shit if you want accurate opinions on what's wrong. Pics = much faster/easier diagnosing of issues and problems.

An airstone and aquarium air-pump makes a 100% difference to your success-rate. Plants require air around their roots, and both soil and still water breed bacteria. Air-pumps/stones aerate the water, which kills bacteria and makes cloning much, much easier.

couple questions, what is the water temp of what you're misting with, and how often do you check the moisture on the leaves and humidity lvls of your cutting area?

I'd say, get some super thrive to soak the cutting in for 30 min prior to planting. Use your root hormone as normal and lose the dome (just mist the plant a few times a day for the first 5 days or so).
