what are the brown sponges that you speak of? do you keep then in a humidity dome for the frist few days or so? you need to tell us your method step by step if you want some more help...

I experimented with cloning for the first time recently. I had 2 out of 3 clones take off beautifully. After I saw the roots, I planted them in transparent cups and put them in a styrofoam cooler covered in plastic wrap. I didn't water them, but I put a bowl of water in the cooler with the new clones. To the best of my knowledge, you have to get the clones to search for water in order to root properly.

I am a newbie, so I am open for correction. Regardless, it worked for me and 2 outta 3 ain't too bad.

well from when i cut them off my mother i use a razor blade to slightly shave the green off of the end and reveal the white stock. from there i dip them in dip and root. from there into the brown pre moisten clone sponges that come in the dome set up. and then they were put outside for the days and inside for the night after those failed i tried again under a cfl in my extra room to have them last a few days longer and shrivel up.

get them in a propagater imo thats what i did with mine, mist it frequently, when you remove lid and leaves dont droop you know the clone is taking hold

sure mine all would have died without the misting in the propagater

Are the leaves turning yellow from the bottom up and they die in two weeks???
If so ur overwatering.
There is no reason to mist clones, there is also no reason to have rediculous amounts of humidity, like people say.
The most common cause of clones not taking root is overwatering.
