clones

i have a 400 watt hps fan cooled light and i have just planted my rooted clones, i was wondering because the temp is quite low when i put the light far away (as told to do for fresh planted clones) can i get the light close as the temp is low and the fan takes the heat off the bulb very good??? and advice is apreciated thanks

How close is the light now?

I would start @ 24" and move the light down several inches every other day.

Heat is always a factor, but baby clones need a week time to adjust to the high output lumens of a HPS light.
