Cloning AK47??

Anybody have experience cloning this strain? Ive had two tries at it and both have taken 20ish days just to sprout roots in a bubble cloner. Is that typical of this strain?

I ask because at the same time i cloned white russian, which is a very close cousin to AK47, and they have no problem sprouting roots in the same bubble cloner in about 10 or 12 days...

Maybe the AK mom was just a bitch... i dunno....

I grow nirvana's ak 48 clone using a homemade arocloner with tap water that i run a few days prior to taking my cuttings. Now i do dip in clonexgell but i dont add anything to the water and i have roots in 8 to 10 days

I've cloned a few strains, and none have taken more than 2 weeks to root.

20 days rooting time sounds more like a monster cropping clone (i.e. a clone taken during the 2nd or 3rd week of flowering).

I use 2 rooting hormone products: Clonex gel, and Take Root powder. Both are cheap and keep well. I use both, and get really good results. I clone in Rapid Rooter plugs.

I use peat pellets to clone in a domed tray. my ak47 takes a bit long to root comparatively, average is probly around 12-15 days for it. most of my strains are ussually pretty close to 10 on the dot. have a strain called grape gum that roots in 6 days pretty frequently.

Bottom heat speeds up rooting a lot. I don't know if your bubble cloner is heated or not but if not then that may be the problem. Personally, I just root in tiny pots of perlite sitting in about 1/8th inch of water with a 9w CFL about 8" over them inside a white plastic container. Actually, the clones are in one container and the light is mounted inside a second similar container sat upside down over the first one. I put clear plastic between the two.
