Cloning an what lights are best an for how long

Whats everyone's about using a 600w mh bulb for clones personal it works but someone else reckons a cfl bulb ???
Start with an 18" T-5 LED in 3500K. Then 40W 3528 LED's @3700K. More than enough for 18" growth per 2'x2' fixture. 6000MH will make crispy salad toppings for you.

Unrooted clones don't need much light at all. I just stick them somewhere warm in ambient light for a week to ten days until they start showing roots and then stick them under the T8's. A 600 watt MH is way more than what is needed and can actually be detrimental to fresh cut clones.

I have one of those lights. Is that a 125 watt that requires the E39 Mogul socket?

130 and yes.

24" t5ho. Fits over the dome perfect. Just enough light not too much. I use rapid rooters and some strains will root in 5 days up to 10days

Been using 32w 4ft Cool White T8 for 40 years for clones. Ive also been known to use the excess light from a 1000w HID that I use for seedlings, and veg, at 7 feet away or so.

Agree 100% clones need very little light. If they have to much they will try and grow, wont produce any roots, and dehydrate trying to grow.

So what do u use for gel clonex??
No rooting hormones, nothing. Tap water, few drops of bleach and bloom nutes is all you need. You could use KLN (IBA-K and NAA combo) to speed it up even more, but it's not needed.

No misting, domes etc and no temperatures to keep in check either. I typically clone on the floor at 66-67F with a 16w CFL bulb. The don't need "Goldilocks" measurements to survive in water. Like keeping optimal temperature and humidity for clones to survive. They're better of at lower temps to keep fungal growth at bay.

I've also cloned in just tap water but they stay greener longer and root a little better with some added blom nutes. I've left clones in the tray for well over a month without problems(other than roots being tangled) Hope that helps. Cheers!
