Cloning and LED

Hey folks, going to be taking some clones soon and wondering how long I should wait before putting them under my LED's? I have 2 180w units currently and im waiting for a 240w to arrive some day soon. I was thinking they would be alright at the bottom of my tent between some other pots but im not sure as ive never taken clones before.

That's sounds good they don't need much light until they root.
Shadows of the veg room is plenty light.
The important thing is keeping it warm. Warmer temp will give you a quicker rooting time.
A cloning/Rooting solution will also increase your root time, and success rate.
General hydroponics Rapid Start works pretty good. I've had good luck with it.
Follow your cloning guide.

topfuel is right on indirect light keep them warm and keep them moist
you might want to spray them with distilled water periodically till they root
i use rootek a little expensive but i have only lost 2 clones and i blame myself :)
happy cloning

Thanks for the advice guys. I was thinking of getting a couple rapid rooter plugs and some rooting powder/gel basicly whatever I can afford money is tight right now. I was going to cut pop bottles up to make little individual humidity domes for each clone. Is there anything else I am going to need? I heard soaking the plugs with water that has superthrive in it helps but is it neccasary?

The advice given in this thread is excellent. The tips I learnt from cloning are: Re-cut the stems underwater to avoid air bubbles. Get the temps right in the rootzone for your clones, a heat mat really helps rooting times. keeping the medium damp but not soaked is KEY. Too wet and the stems will rot, too dry and the plant will die! it's very tempting to fuck ab out with them every day or several times a day. DONT DO THIS! Cut them, plant them then leave them alone for 3 days, then water if required then leave for another 2 days. The more you fiddle with them the more chance they will fail!

One more quick question before I start chopping up this plant, do I need to give my fresh clones a dark period before putting them under light? I read somewhere that they needed this but everything else I read says they don't, opinions please?

i'd say no....as long you plan on indirect light
you want the clone to veg the roots more than the leaves
:)

great advice Arcaned i forgot about cutting underwater to limit air embolisms and yes moist but not wet
cheers
