Cloning, any help?

Well I'm trying to clone my plant, my first attempt i cut a branch off, split the bottom of the cutting.... not sure where i saw this but it was in a guide, then put it in a cup of water. Didn't seem to work, so i did the same thing without splitting the bottom, didn't seem to work aswell.... Now just yesterday, i cut 4 little branches off near the bottom of the plant, dipped them in water then in cloning hormone, put them in a cup of water with a little bit of superthrive, then this morning i decided to put them in little party cups with soil.... Bout 6 hours later they look dead.

Planning on taking maybe 1 or 2 more off of the plant, and just take 1, dip it in water then in the rooting hormone and then back in normal water, see if it roots in the next few weeks. With the other 1 i'm gonna put rooting hormone on, then plant it to see if it works this time... Not sure what i'm doing wrong :(, any help?

Have you considered using Rockwool squares (better than a cup of water methinks)? Also, do you keep them in a dome to keep the humidity up? (Also a heating pad would prob help)

Rockwool... I don't know, just trying to keep it as simple as possible, kind of just an experiment but i'd love for 1 of them to actually root. As for the humidity dome.... No, i don't have 1 :P, but they're kinda in a small box, so would a wet towel work to keep the humidity up? Reason this is more of an experiment, is because i'm lolipopping her, just trying to find uses for the little branches.

2 things:

1) Its pretty normal for a cutting to droop and sag the first several hours after taking your cut. Give them a full 24 hours before you decide to chuck them. Humidity for the leaves is important. Get yourself a good tray and a mondi dome (or equivalent) and spray inside the dome every day. The more clones you take, the easier it is to maintain a high humidity :)

2) If you want to know how to do REALLY amazing and effective cloning, check out this guy on Youtube called Sublbc...he has small video series called "Growers guide to production cloning", which is really designed much more for more serious cloning operations, but even the basic info of where and how to cut the plants is essential for any cloning operation. Highly recommended. Ive used his method twice now, and I have 100% success rates.

Clip at a diagonal angle, (or slice with a STERILE razor), deep it in the rooting hormone, it should have at least 1 decent sized leaf on it, clip the tips of it, so that the plant can intake new moisture in the humidome. After that, keep them @ 90-100% humidity. A friend of mine uses sponges, but i'm about to start taking clones myself, i'll prob do the same, or rockwool squares. But as long as you keep it simple, sterilize everything being used, and keep your heat/humidity up, you should have some lil baby clones in no time.
What strain you cloning?

Thanks for your input, they're comin off a bag seed, the bag was labeled granddaddy.

All clones need relatively high humidity before they root. Don't get their above-ground parts wet, though. You want the only actually wet part of the clone to be where you want roots to grow.

One of the thing you need for roots to start is darkness. I've tried to clone in water never got roots. I get about 90% with the bubble cloner and about 50-60% in seedling soil. At least in soil you need moist not wet. In the bubble cloner you mix air into the water. the root chamber soil or rez needs to be very close to 80 degrees.

Yeah, i just saw that on grasscity myself, looks pretty easy, when i need to take a lot of clones, i'll prob build one myself.
