Cloning.. Do i really need those humidity domes???

Hello all,

I'm finally ready to clone and I want to do it today!!!

However, the hydro store closes at 4 pm and i won't be able to make it.

The only reason I was going to go to the hydro store was to pick up a humidity dome for my clones... is this necessary?

If so... since i won't make it to the hydro-store, any suggestion for substitutes?

search a few of the older threads and check the grow faqs,u should find several answers there....good luck

Clones get all there fuel from the leafs and the humidity domes are the best thing for them....(thats just my views) You want it to be warm and moist not dripping wet..

i d k why ppl jus dont tell you if their gonna post any ways. but
yes u do.. all u need is like a big clear tubaware thing.. jus after u plant ur clones in cups or w/e use the lid as the bottom to sit the plants on and put the plastic box thing over top and put sum floruescent lights close to it.

but if u need 2 no what to do after that .. read the faqs..

From what i gather from all ur expert advice, I will definitely be looking for a dome.


If I don't find one today, i'll have to clone tomorrow.

i just used a gatoraide bottle because thereisn't any hydro store myin town
my first try with out the clone got dryed out & died. the second with the bottle over it thrived. till i removed it after it had roots just rember tolet fresh air in every day. some plants are easer to clone then others. gl
