cloning not going so well

This is my first attempt at cloning myself, ive watched numerous videos on it and figured out my own way using other peoples methods. So I basically presoaked my rockwool cubes for a little over an hour in water that was ph to 5.6 or so, I made the 45 degree angle cut, then I shaved off the skin at the bottom, and cut it down the middle for more surface area to root, dipped in clone-x gel and placed in the rockwool after I squeezed it out, its been about 11 or 12 days and I just don't think they are going to make it, they are yellowing and no root growth is visable yet, can anyone tell me if this is normal? do they look like they are going to die? and now apparently the website isn't letting me upload pictures so I will try to add some later.

Do upload pics when you can.
But yeah they can yellow pretty badly
and still survive.

I expect you should see something this coming week. ish

Do you have a Humidity Dome?? This can play a HUGE factor, IT will help help temps. and most of all, The prefect conditions (Make sure you mist the clones) Sounds like your "environment" wasnt suited for the clones, a dome can hold MANY clones in Rockw. cubes...also I use Plugs... I believe they work better but that is a preference! just thought I would add my to sense! Good luck!

thank you all for the responses so far!
I have them in trays with humidity domes, the ones with the vents on top, they are under constant light and get sprayed about every other day.
the temperature is right around 77. idk what is going on with the upload its just not working :\

Do you have a heat pad on low under the tray?
You have low wattage CFL's and 1/2" of perlite in the
tray not soaked but just moist a bit consistently?
Squeezing the water out of the cubes is a no no.
Squeezing messes up the air/water ratio the cubes have.
If you do squeeze, squeeze very gently on the corner edges
half way down the cube. This helps keeping the cube in the
original shape or just shake out the water before
adding the cutting
to it. Keep the vents open or slide the dome back a bit
just enough to allow air to flow more freely all the while
keeping the dome humid. Don't mist the plants, just the dome. If you mist the plants then the plants get water and will not need to grow roots.

keep it really wet in there mist the dome and everything maybe give them a little nutrients in your mister i clone in soil and the plugs so not sure about rockwool but maybe theres no nutrients so its using the leaves. make sure the light is not too strong for the clones the dont need much lower light conditions make them root better. i use a cfl at about 8-10 inches above the clones. sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks for roots to appear.

also some looked like they dried up you can mist them every day and never let them dry out or they basically die make sure everything stays moist untill rooted. you will get the hang of it my first 1 or 2 batches of clones i had to take lots of them cus only a few survive. now i get almost 100% of my clones rooted with no drooping or yellow leaves.

why they are turning yellow . if the temps are under 75f . they are hungry looking for nutrients . problem most people have they cut off a plant that is not fed proper . the mother plant should be fed as strong as possible with nutrients . then you cut the clone off it . the clone can live 3 to 6 weeks so it can form roots . the mother plant should be very dark green health . and the clones will work out for you . no need for those clone jells or powders . this stuff is for rookies . they sell it just to make money. and the way you cut it does not make any difference . as long its cut with a sharp razor or snips . temps need to be in those cubes 60 to 75. any hotter they will rot in the stem. best temp is 65 ish . now your in a pickle I do understand . you need these clones to live. you know what to do next time this time . I suggest there is nothing to lose now. drain the water out 100 % even squeeze the cubes dry. but do NEVER pull out the stem from the cube. that's a no no . add nutrients . 1/4 strength . mixed with water .and check them in a few days. lighting should be best results cfl 25 to 50watt bulb any color temp. this is what I would do. if I was in your situation .

Get some vitamin B put it in a spray bottle and lightly spray it down the stem. This will help kick the plant into producing roots. Next time before you take clones load your plant up with a little extra vitamin B about a week or so before taking them. Next time when your ph. your rockwool ad vitamin B to the water before ph.

the first tray pictures lighting is way off, it looks pretty much the same as the other 2, few more yellow/burnt ones though.
thank you all for responses so far! im going to do some nute spray and heating pads and check in a few days, will keep you all posted

Clones are fairly simple. Either the tray or rockwool is too wet and your stem rots with in 24 hours or to dry and your plant will wilt. If you wilt them you can just add water. If you rot them your dome or medium is too wet and you need to start over. The clone will tell you with in the first 24 hours if it is standing straight up you will have roots in 6-14 days. Some clones lay over keep an eye on them if they don't stand up within 48 hours they are probably starting to rot.
