Cloning question

Ok so i get the fact that cuttings from a mother plant will grow up to be all female in sex...

What i dont get is... If there is no way to determine whether a plant is female or male until about 2 weeks into flowering... how do you keep a female mother plant in vegetative state to produce your clones in the first place???

thanks

feminized seeds, if your clones turn female you know for sure. You can also always turn your flowering mother back into vegetative state. Stunts it for awhile just to note.

To keep it in vegetative state all you have to do is keep the lights on 18/6 or even 24/7

The best time if your planning on having it flower itself latest would be a week away from flowering.

If its just going to be a mother I would take them when your cutting are 4 inches, 3-4 nodes large. Try to take the ones closest to your roots from what i have heard because they are ones with the most rooting hormones.

Best time is always veg state. I usually take a cutting about two weeks before flower. but in your case if your going to keep that mother growing for cloning then just about anytime is fine.
