Cloning Question

I'm using a Turbo Kloner for the firs time (first time using any clone machine) and I'm on day 13 since I cut them and I only have 1 large root (out of 9 cuts) I took 3 cuts from a very woody plant those rant doing much I have 5 others that are showing many white nubs but no roots just white nubs, is this normal? I know it should take 10-14 days to root and I'm not using a heat mat or heat control and I know that could be part of my problem, but I'm just curious if it sounds like their going to root up or not!!

the white nubs are formation of roots.optimal temp range 70-80F..75F being my fav for faster rooting and less baddies forming in clone solution.

go with a heat mat, if u do use a heat mat and have a humidty dome (most clone machines dont but jus incase) remove the humidty dome when heat mat is on the mat will evaporate the water in the air round the clones creating humidty, another good way is to let ur water sit out for 24hrs so it can gain room temp, get a TDS meter to measure the dissolved solids an the temp of water

I didn't opt for the $30 dome, that's how I'll justify the mat to the boss :) well that and the fact she'll continue to smoke our strains. I just started using a TDS meter, what should it be at for cloning?

sounds right to me mate. Takes a while to get this method down for cloning, regardless of how easy people make it out to be.

woody stems actually make great clones. And with your method, I had woody stems with fem flowers on cuttings root in straight tap water in the dark in 5 days! I do use rooting powder though. great investment.

Anyway, allow up to 3 weeks when you are starting a new cloning technique. bumps are good. i have often planted bumped, but not rooted clones in soil or hydro and they hold fine.

Dirty: I'm using a gel

Thanks everyone.... Update:

I purchased a heat mat today and some Clonex cloning solution just added 7tsp to my reservoir (mixed in a little water) and am waiting to check my PPM, crazy thing is I've rooted both in RW and RR's that were done by now. I'm thinking the combo of Clonex and heat mat should kick things up a notch. Taking a few cuts today, they should fair better than the last.

3 weeks is about the longest it's ever taken me to root a clone, granted I've lost some (specially with rock wool, I seed in RW but had better luck with Rapid Rooters for clones, but now the machine.

i just had 5/5 of my clones root in 10 days and all i used was a rooting gel and i put them in super wet coco coir in solo cups... put them under a couple cfl's and misted every 2 days with b-1 green... i didnt need a humidity dome, heat mats or anything... not knocking how anyone else does it but all in all it was the easiest and cheapest way ive cloned and had all cuts survive and root so fast...

i followed his instructions and it worked... check out this link

Want to know what the real problem, possibly was? I believe I scorched the crap out of them having my T5 too close... *in best Charlie Brown voice* Good Grief!!!

I root in room that is 70-72 ish.. and always roots in 7-15 days.. give em time. Watched pot never boils, I used to check them every half hour. Now I just do it every couple days, unless I know they are close as I like to put them in rockwool or rapid rooters when nubs start forming.
