Cloning questions

hey i have a question about mother plant...
so you put the plant on a 12/12 schedual to try to figure out if its male or female....say it turns out to be a femal and you want to keep that as a mother plant to take clones from. would switching back from 12/12 to 24/0 stop her from budding...or what..how does that work... or do you just keep the plant while budding and still clone it.

also..say yuo have already cut your clones and the clones root and everything and they start growin...your mother plant dies..could you turn a clone into a mother plant and then clone the clones?

also i forgot...whats a good size for a plant to start the 12/12 flowering stage if you want to keep it semi small..(ya i know it wont have a big harvest but im short on space...((mind the pun))))right now there about 5-6 inches..still babies and im no where near ready to flower yet..

The 24 hr cycle is what you want to bring her back into veg. You veg to whatever size you want but the plants at least double in size after you put them into flower. Thats what you go by!

If you have vegged your 'mother' long enough you should get pre hairs to sex it. By the time you would be able to get any decent amount of clones I'm sure there will be pre hairs, if it is indeed a female.
You know when it's mature enough because the nodes will start to alternate instead of being perfectly symmetrical like they are right now.
If you wanted to figure out the sex earlier you could take a clone, and put the clone into 12/12 to sex it.
And yes you can take a clone and veg it into a mother.

alright my new freind fist you should go read the newbie forums also the faq has everyhting you need to know about cloning but to save you a litlte struggle mothers are known females just to let you know not you can do 12/12 to sex them then you would put it back under 18/6 not 24 not point ok secondly its very hard to get a cloe to root from a pant that has been vegging due to diffent hormones being relased by the plant better suess rate when you take cuttings from a vegging plant ( again do some reading and youll see why) not you mother shouldnt die due to takin cuttings but dont co taking 15 at the same time take two or three to start and let your mother grow back and take a few more treat her with love and care and she will do you right good height to flower depnds on space if your reall limited liek you say use htis as rule plants will usalyy get 100%-300 biggger in flower so plant accordingly most only get about 240% bigger but what you can do its let you plant get big and prune it back to wht size you wnat but you dont want to prune often as it stresses the plants and you dont want to prune a flowering plant

typo about its hard to take clones from FLOWERING PLANTS

just take your clones then induce flowering on the mother...hope its a female and budd it the whole way then if it is a female you allready have clonesfrom it prior to flowering and you can still enjoy the buds off the mother...win....win you get clones and buds....
