Cloning rookie

I figured that, I was refuting to PH and such...

I soaked it overnight In 5.5
Water

Now the ph is 6.8...

I know to get the excess
Water out after the soak

But I was thinking ph should be just a littl lower

Any opinions or advice

Thanks ALL

Well not
The answer I was looking for :\
Thank you for input anyways

I've cloned 2 other times with success, without any ph balance and it took about 18-19 days for roots
I've read and heard of roots in 5-6 days

I just went and paid almost 100$ for a ph tester with hopes of speeding up rooting time

Thank you again
For input

try 5.5 PH with a mild nutrient solution
That's the question, I set
Set it to 5.5 lastnight woke up and it's at 6.8.....

Should I get the water
The cubes are soaking in back down to 5.5 Before putting my clones in?

Or is it designed to go up to around 6.8
And that's what your supposed to put em in???

well i startd cloning around 2 months back so m new....bt i do it the most simplest n best way...just cut d clone at 45degree n dip atleast an inch f it stem dipped it in water....bettr to use a vessel which is dark since roots dun lik lights.....and thats it...u hav a clone ready in 7-14 days.with lots f tiny roots.... for me it works 8 outa 10 really good...infact 2 f my clones which i planted 2 months back are nw in 7th week of flowering n frm a 3 inch plant which went to flower as soon as i transplanted has become a big 2 feet....best f luck

Just dry it and start over,
On your calculations ph to 4.3
See what happens. I dont ever ph but that should work

PH doesn't matter when cloning. They are not absorbing nutrients. The moisture is there to keep them alive and allow roots to form. The PH meter will be much needed soon, so it was not a waste of money.

Well they're all cut and in the dome, a little saggy, but if I remebr the first time I did it they were saggy the first 48 hours or so
Thanks for the
Input guys

Any tips to get em to root faster from here ?

at least someone got it right, I think Ph is way over thought in all aspects of growing. Keep it between 5.8 and 6.8 and you'll be fine, But I have 100% success rate just sticking clone in a pre soaked cube, into dome and 5-8 days, a rooted clone, UNLESS it's OG, then it takes a week longer.

I would recommend jiffy pellets over rockwool. Reason is that one of the biggest problems for new cloners is getting the proper degree of wetness in the growing media. With the darker pellets it is easier to gauge media wetness. I prepare a pellet by soaking for 5 minutes in warm water then squeezing most of the moisture out of the pellet. Works for me.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Ph and Nutes don't matter like listed above.. Just soak rockwool then squeeze rockwool slightly to remove having to much water mist inside of ziplock bag slide 2 -3 clones in bag ... blow inside to fill bag with co2 and humid air then ziplock and place in slight shade area in 8 days bam roots......

If cloning bulk soak rockwool slab... then tip at angel so water runs down into bottom corner and drains out of rockwool.... then put clone in rockwool mist plant tops and dome in water place in rockwool dome close the vent completely so no humidity can escape ... bam roots in 8-9 days

97-100% humidity is the real trick
