Cloning

This is a pic of one of the first clones I picked two days ago. I picked it out and no roots had grown. Most of the clones are withering away. should I have cut some of the leaves off??? Im using ESU GREENLEAVES ROOT JUICE. I just dipped them into the rooting solution and conditioner. next day I sprayed the plastic container with water and it evaporates good. I put seedling in the container and they are growing normal so the lights are good. The second pic is of the bottom part of the box I use for cloning.

The plastic cloning box has two small openings for air but I keep them close so the water will evaporate quicker, should I leave the openings open? does it matter?

They'll probably take at least a week to root, you shouldn't expect anything after two days. Keep them under the dome and spray with water a few times a day

yea, im attempting cloning right now too. i read on here that you donr want them to dry out so i guess like entropic said mist them several times a day.

Go to walmart and buy 7 of the smallest planter bases yo can find. A 3" terra cota is ideal. They will cost like 50 cents each. Take your clones out and fill the bottom of clone chamber with water all the way up to where the bottom of your rockwool cubes would be. set the planter bases on top of the water and your clones on top of the bases. Clones can grow in 100% humidity so the more water in the air the better. This little setup will make it to where you dont have to keep misting it. Also if you wanna get really fancy you could pick up some small aquarium heaters in the pet care section and place them in the water to help with evaporation.

You only need a couple of leaves to successfully clone. If you propagate them they won't dry out so quick. Good idea to layer the bottom of the propagator with perlite. This absorbs and locks in water creating a more humid atmosphere... with this in place you should only need to mist once in every 24 hour period... also leave the lid of the propagator off for about ten minutes to clear any condensation build-up.

Soak rockwool overnight in ph 6.0 (I use 5.5 but that's me) lukewarm water. This water can then be used to fill up a misting bottle to see you through the first four or five days... keep the water stored at room temp but away from light. It will last longer. After the four or five days change the water for another lot of 6.0 room temp' water.
