okay sampson...thank you...now like i say im pretty sure that i see preflowers on my prettiest two plants and they both look like female ones....now im gonna wait a few more days to make sure but i have another question...if the lower branch that i have in mind will work good im gonna do it....its small..its about 2 or 2.5 inches but yet it has six sets of leaves....is this one good to use or should i aim for the bigger, more mature branches???thanx
well this brings on some questions... so your total plant height is under 6 inches and you see preflowers?? are you growing an autoflower strain or are you flowering your girls (knock on wood) already?? or are you saying the bottom branch is on about 2 to 2.5 inches long?? also what makes you think you are seeing preflowers?? seems like your girls are a little young to show.. but i guess its possible..
ill give you my answer in either situation... either way, once you see nodes and branches, you can take a cutting for a clone... i would personally recommend waiting until you see alternating nodes.. ie the nodes that are growing stop growin next to eachother and start spacing themselves out.. this means the plant is fully mature and ready to flower...
now if you are flowering already, which i really hope you arent, you can take a cutting or two.. but more than likely they will be immature clones (assuming the plant is still young)... any clones taken from an immature plant are themselves immature, and i clone taken from a mature plant is itself mature also.. so waiting until maturity is best...
if it is an autoflower strain then you cant clone it.. the life cycle is to short and the clone will end up flowering before you can clone it again.. the only way to keep autoflowers going are to seed a batch and use those seeds.. but that is a pain in the ass...
lastly if you are still vegging your plants there are 2 things.. first is you dont see preflower and what you are seeing are new growth sites getting ready to grow... i think you have a young plant.. are you seeing 2 little white hairs (female) or things that look like grape clusters (male) popping out at the nodes?? if not then you arent seeing preflowers... the second option is your plant is actually 4 or 5 weeks old.. just serverly light starved or nute locked or something.. its really hard to tell without more info tho..
