i usually wait until they start to have alternating nodes, usually a good sign the plant is mature and will give good clones

yes it is a matter of maturity as to not stress the plant too much, top it, wait 2 or 3 weeks and you will more branches to pull clones from then ya know what to do with.

i never clone untill i sex them. 2-3 in veg then go to flower lighting. soon as they show the sex then i clone. i dont want to clone a plant and veg it out then sex it just to find out its a male.and all of it clone will be. Its waist the time you know. this way you know it a female. and your clone will be the same.

Look for a clone that has about 4 internode's on it.I like to make my cut just before the bottom set of node's leaveing them on so that in time these will grow out to become your next set of clone's.But saying that i have took some realy small clones and with time all clone's make it has long has you don't over water them.Use a good rooting compound clonex. And only mist 2 time's a day there is no need to mist any more make the plant work for water.and most important is a humidity dome is a must in cloneing........................................tyke...................................................................................

cloning is very opinionated, some things work for some and not for others. It can be very challenging. I tried every sure to work method out there. and after 8 months of failure time and time again. I tdon't have it mastered yet but I had 100% roots on last cuttings. My tap water is about 230 ppm and that was killing my efforts, after I used spring water everything worked fine. I don't use a humidity dome or mist, I have tried it and it never worked for me. Just going to have to see what works for you.

I know tap water can be a curse I have a water filter it was only 20 Euros it has paid for its self 10 times ove spring water can sap your cash if you have a few plants on the go I have 7 at the moment 2 Early Rider 5 Northern lights
