Closed Loop Recovery

Hey guys,

I'm just starting making bho. I'm looking at purchasing a closed loop system and I'm wondering if after I have done a run and if I have lost some of the butane during the process can I just use the can tap tool to add another can to the recovery tank with the recovered butane in it or do I have to empty it first and pull it to a full vac before I add more butane.

I'm not really sure what the purpose of vaccing the recovery chamber is. What does it do?

I just want to have everything down before I start! Thanks.
Curious, did you end up adding more solvent to your recovery tank that had butane in it already? Did you just can tap another into it and use temps to assist? Since you can't pull a vac on the recovery tank again, due to solvent being in it still. Would love a reply!

I would inject the new butane into the recovery tank, and recover it from there to remove any mystery oil. Be sure and weigh the tank before and after to insure no more than an 80% fill.

Only necessary to vacuum the storage tank to remove all atmosphere before adding the butane the first time.

You are vacuuming the recovery chamber to remove all oxygen before adding flammable LPG. The recovery pump also works poorly if there are noncondensible gases present, even it it isn't oxygen.
